WARNING: The following contains spoilers for DC vs. Vampires #6, on sale March 29 from DC Comics.

Multiple members of the Suicide Squad meet an explosive end in DC vs. Vampires #6, but Captain Boomerang is the only one whose head actually goes boom by mistake.

A preview of the issue provided by DC Comics shows Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Deadshot and Captain Boomerang fighting King Shark and Parasite, two Task Force X troopers-turned-bloodsuckers. Harley Quinn makes a call to Amanda Waller to notify her of the situation, mentioning that it's her and Deadshot up against the undead. She fails to mention that Captain Boomerang is still among the living -- and this fact proves to be the Captain's demise as Waller immediately activates the bombs embedded in each Task Force X's member's brain. King Shark's head explodes, followed by Parasite's, followed by the unfortunate Captain Boomerang's. "I forgot he was here," Harley sheepishly remarks after the fact.

DC vs. Vampires is a 12-issue limited series that pits the Justice League against a nation of bloodsuckers that have decided to destroy humanity following the untimely death of Mary, Queen of Blood, who was the only presence that kept vampires and humans from falling into all-out war. The series has thus far been unafraid to turn iconic characters into villains. In the first issue, Hal Jordan was revealed as a vampire, and he made quick work of both Andrew Bennett -- of I, Vampire fame -- and Zan of the Wonder Twins, who he mercilessly tossed into a Green Lantern construct of a giant blender.

Issue #2 saw Hal snapping Barry Allen's neck after admitting that he would've liked to ally with his long-term friend, but a vampiric Flash would've been too unpredictable. Wonder Woman was the next Justice League member targeted by Hal, and the cliffhanger of DC vs. Vampires #5 hints that Superman may be next on the list.

Thus far, the Bat-Family and the Arrow Family have remained free of vampiric corruption and are working together in an uneasy alliance to expose the bloodsuckers in the metahuman community. Aside from revealing the grisly end of Captain Boomerang, the preview of DC vs. Vampires Issue #6 also shows Hal Jordan and Wonder Woman approaching Batman, his various sidekicks and Green Arrow in a secret hideaway, attempting to get them to cross over to the side of darkness. After Batman refuses, a massive fight breaks out.
