As is the case for any superhero team, the Justice League needed their very own base of operations. After some time they founded one of the greatest headquarters that any superhero team has every been based out of -- the Hall of Justice. Although the Hall is widely known by comic book readers of all different kinds, there are still several facts about the facility that many fans actually are totally unaware of.

10 First Appeared On Super Friends

This Justice League headquarters did not debut in the comic books. Instead, the facility first appeared on the goofy, animated superhero show Super Friends. While modern-day comics haven't taken much inspiration from the dated series, the base of the team was one good idea to steal.

While the Hall may have seemed like an incredibly dated idea, the comic books were able to totally update the base. Now it fits in perfectly with the much darker world of the comic book DC universe.

9 Trophy Room

Having fought many villains in their time the Justice League has acquired all sorts of weapons and gadgets from their formidable opponents. Much like how Batman has an assortment of enemy trophies in his Batcave, the Hall of Justice has a similar assemblage of bad guy weapons.

The trophy room in the Hall of Justice is where the League puts all of these villain's weapons and equipment on display for all to see. The public is allowed into the room to admire the equipment. Batman has made sure to disarm anything that may have, at one time, been dangerous.

8 Created After The Destruction of the Watchtower

JUSTICE LEAGUE HQ - Watchtower

In the comic books, the Hall of Justice was not the League's first headquarters. Instead, it was the spaceborne Watchtower. For several decades the Watchtower was heralded as the greatest superhero base of operations of all time.

Unfortunately, the Watchtower was destroyed in the comic books. The League was then left with no location that they could call home. As a replacement for the Watchtower, the Hall of Justice worked perfectly. Keeping the superhero team on Earth made them seem much less imposing to the public.

7 Embassy

Legally, the Hall of Justice serves as a sort of embassy for superhumans with all of the rights and privileges that the typical embassy has. Because of this, the superhero base of operations has asserted itself as an important American political establishment.

After gaining these political rights, the Hall of Justice began housing various superhuman refugees that weren't exactly good with the American government. Given that many Justice Leaguers are vigilantes, this is a helpful tool that the Justice League can pull out of their back pocket.

6 Fallen Heroes

There is a place within the embassy for the League's dearly departed members and allies. In the past, there was a burial place for fallen superheroes called Vahalla Cemetary.

The Hall of Justice replaced the Vahalla Cemetary as the new home for fallen heroes. In the basement lies a memorial for all those who had died using their powers to defend the people of Earth.

5 The Morgue

In addition to there being a place where the League can house their fallen members, there is also an on-site area where they can house their fallen enemies. Deep in Hall's basement is a room called The Morgue.

The smarter scientific minds of the League would dissect certain villains' remains to learn more about them. Also, keeping the bodies here prevented shady government groups from using them for experimentation and the creation of weapons.

4 Financed By Batman

An enormous project such as the Hall of Justice required significant funding in order t0 be constructed. Fortunately enough for the Justice League, the team happens to have a billionaire on their roster.

Bruce Wayne has more resources than any other superhero that has ever joined the Justice League. Although it seemed like an expensive undertaking, creating the Hall of Justice costed merely chump change compared to the kinds of things the billionaire vigilinte is used to buying.

3 Designed By John Stewart And Wonder Woman

Once they had acquired the funds, the Justice League still needed to design their new base of operations. Luckily, they already had a few members on the team with the knowledge and creativity to take on such a job.

With centuries of knowledge of Amazonian history and architecture, Wonder Woman was able to give some valuable insight when it came to the Hall's construction. As a Green Lanter, John Stewart had become a master and visualizing and building constructs so he played a vital role in the design of the complex as well.

2 Built By Superman

The Hall of Justice is absolutely massive. The sheer amount of manpower needed to build it in a short amount of time would have been staggering. Luckily for the Justice League, they have one man with the strength of a million.

Between his incredible super strength and insanely quick super-speed, Superman made quick work out of the JLA's new headquarters. They were very fortunate to have him on the roster at the time.

1 Former JSA Headquarters

Before the Hall of Justice was even built, the plot it was built upon already had some important historical significance. A previous building on the site served as an additional base of operations for a previous superhero team.

The former JSA or Justice Society of America had operated out of that very same location. Choosing to build the Hall on top of the JSA's old headquarters was a sign of respect for the previous generation team of heroes.
