A Silver Age supervillain gets a modern makeover this November in the pages of Batman/Superman, this time linked to the fiendish Brainiac: Composite Batman/Superman.

DC has released its solicitations or its titles scheduled to go on sale in November, including Batman/Superman #14 by Joshua Williamson and Max Raynor. After the World's Finest confronts Brainiac from his lunar base, they are merged by the hideout's artificial intelligence into a single, nightmarish being, with only Steel and Batwoman able to undo their monstrous transformation.

      • NEW VILLAIN ALERT: THE COMPOSITE BATMAN/SUPERMAN!
      • Enter the Composite Batman/Superman! The Dark Knight and the Man of Steel are trapped inside the Brainiac protocol’s deadly moon base, and this psychotic A.I. will not stop until it has merged with the beings it believes are its creators! And merging is exactly what our heroes are doing, as the deadly new fusion of the World’s Finest duo emerges to wreak havoc in the name of Brainiac! Can Steel and Batwoman turn the tide and save their friends?

Originally a completely separate character created by Edmond Hamilton and Curt Swan for 1964's World's Finest Comics #142, the Composite Superman was a recurring opponent for the Man of Steel and Dark Knight. The heroic Toyman created a robotic version of the Composite Superman/Batman as a mech to be piloted in the modern era, and in Dark Nights: Death Metal, a new version of the mech was unveiled, this time featuring Wonder Woman added to the robot.
