The character of Iron Man was one of the first Marvel heroes and a founding member of the Avengers. Using his unrivaled engineering expertise, Iron Man has created many powerful suits of armor over the years, ones that have allowed him to defeat some of the most dangerous villains around. While he can be a bit arrogant and mouthy, he still works well with his fellow heroes when he isn't fighting them for using his technology or siding with the government against them.

Iron Man's unique skills and personality would allow him to have interesting crossovers with many DC heroes, although there are lots of them he wouldn't get along with.

10 Should Crossover With Iron Man: Superman Would Work Well With Iron Man Regardless Of Iron Man's Attitude

Superman at the site of a nuclear explosion.

Superman is one of the DC Universe's most important heroes and has worked with all kinds of abrasive heroes. While Iron Man can be a handful, he wouldn't get on Superman's nerves that much- if one can work with Guy Gardner, they can work with anyone. Iron Man, for his part, is used to working with a "perfect" hero because of Captain America and would even follow Superman's lead.

Iron Man would be hard to work with at first but Superman would roll with it and eventually the two heroes would get along rather well, working together like only two veteran heroes can.

9 Shouldn't Crossover With Iron Man: Batman And Iron Man Would Be Too Antagonistic

Batman Infinite Frontier

Batman can be a very tough hero to get along with and there are a lot of reasons that he and Iron Man wouldn't mix, and not all of them are his fault. While the two have a lot of similarities, Iron Man's flippant and arrogant attitude would annoy Batman to no end and Batman's rock-hard certainty in his actions and how right he is would cause Iron Man to constantly try and one-up the Dark Knight.

Their antagonism wouldn't be very fertile ground for a crossover. They would spend most of their time working together at each other's throats and it would bring out the worst in both heroes.

8 Should Crossover With Iron Man: Shazam And Iron Man Are A Better Match Than They Seem

Future State Shazam feature 1

On paper, Shazam and Iron Man don't exactly seem like a great team but they'd work a lot better together than most people think. Shazam is highly underrated but he definitely needs some polishing at times and Iron Man would be just the hero to give it to him. Iron Man is a smart cookie- he'd figure out the truth about Shazam pretty quick and that would make their working relationship go better.

Iron Man would take Shazam under his wing, giving the younger hero pointers and sharing his experience. Shazam would prove receptive to the mentoring and would add some oomph to any battle the two heroes get in. Their crossover would be a lot of fun for readers and great for the characters as well.

7 Shouldn't Crossover With Iron Man: Iron Man Hitting On Zatanna Would Make The Whole Thing Annoying

DC Comics Zatanna

Iron Man likes to think of himself as a ladies man and while there's some truth behind that, it's also one of the most annoying parts of the character. So, seeing him interact with Zatanna, one of the DC Universe's most powerful magic users, would get annoying very fast.

Zatanna is way more than romantic appeal and while Iron Man wouldn't exactly completely objectify her, he would try hitting on her and it would make the whole thing really uncomfortable for everyone involved. The jokes would be tired, Zatanna would get annoyed, and readers wouldn't enjoy it either.

6 Should Crossover With Iron Man: John Constantine And Iron Man's Sniping At Each Other Would So Much Fun

John Constantine Hellblazer DC Comics

John Constantine and Iron Man would not get along at all and it would be glorious. Constantine is a notorious screw-up and can be very hard to deal with, two things that he and Iron Man have in common. Both of them are mouthy and arrogant and their sniping at each other would be worth the price of admission.

While they would gain a grudging respect for one another as the team-up went on, neither man could resist needling the other. Their crossover would probably one of the most entertaining ever, as they used all of their skills to beat their enemies and get the best insults in.

5 Shouldn't Crossover With Iron Man: Hawkman Would Think Iron Man Was Soft

Hawkman feature 1

Hawkman has spent countless lifetimes fighting evil, trying to make up for the atrocities he committed millennia ago. He's a fierce warrior who can be a bit extra at times and that's why he and Iron Man wouldn't get along. He wouldn't respect Iron Man's reliance on machines and take exception to his flippant attitude.

Iron Man would try to get along with Hawkman but his jokes wouldn't endear Hawkman to him, instead of annoying the winged warrior even more. Given time, they could become friends but as far as a crossover goes, they wouldn't get along well enough to make it entertaining.

4 Should Crossover With Iron Man: Mr. Terrific And Iron Man Would Be The Coolest Science Duo Ever

Mr Terrific

Iron Man knows he's not the smartest person in every room he walks into and he would definitely know that after spending only a few minutes with Mr. Terrific. Mr. Terrific is the third smartest person on DC's Earth and Iron Man would respect him immediately. All of the arrogance and pretense that color Iron Man's dealing with those he considers less than himself would melt away and the two would work well together.

There's no problem that the two of them couldn't solve together and Iron Man would probably let Mr. Terrific borrow some armor if the threat was big enough. Afterward, Terrific would give Iron Man some pointers on making the armor's UI better and Iron Man would actually listen to him.

3 Shouldn't Crossover With Iron Man: Iron Man And Martian Manhunter Could Work Together But Wouldn't Bond Very Well

Martian Manhunter from DC Comics

Martian Manhunter can be an acquired taste. He's a bit aloof to those who don't know him, only opening up when really gets to know someone. This reticence would hurt any relationship between him and Iron Man. Both heroes are consummate professionals and could work together but there's very little for them to bond about.

Their life experiences are so very different and their personalities just wouldn't mesh very well. Their crossover would be successful and they wouldn't hate each other but neither would enjoy the other's company very much.

2 Should Crossover With Iron Man: Booster Gold And Iron Man Would Be Hilarious Together

Booster Gold

It's hard to say whether Booster Gold and Iron Man would actually like each other but they'd be a lot of fun to read about together. The two men both have a lot in common and also have a lot of personality traits that would set the other on edge, making any interaction between the two very entertaining.

Watching them snipe at each other, get along, then start sniping at each other again would be a lot of fun for everyone involved. Both men are team players, so even if they didn't actually like each other, they could still get along enough to beat their foes.

1 Shouldn't Crossover With Iron Man: Wonder Woman Would Find Him Kind Of Insufferable

Wonder Woman with her magic lasso

Thor and Wonder Woman have a lot in common, so Iron Man has proven he can work with some like Diana but it's hard to say whether Diana could work with him. Diana has a low tolerance for the type of person that Iron Man is and even though he could back up his arrogance, by the time he did the damage would already be done.

Wonder Woman just wouldn't like Iron Man as a person very much. They could work together but she would find him to be quite insufferable for most of the team-up. While she would gain respect for him by the end, she probably still wouldn't like him very much.
