Quicksilver is arguably one of the fastest characters in the Marvel canon. He is able to run at speeds of around Mach 3, which has aided him in battle countless times. Though he started off as an antagonist, he has served on the Avengers, aided the X-Men, as has even served with the Inhuman faction.

As well as running at superhuman speeds, Quicksilver can also think at superhuman speeds. He can process information and react at far greater rates than even the best metahumans. He has launched himself from buildings at such speed that he has reached planes, and telepaths find it significantly harder to affect him because of the speeds he reaches.

10 Barry Allen

Barry Allen's Flash runs at top speed.

Barry Allen is by far the most well-known speedster, and is often referred to as the "fastest man alive." He has essentially built the book on super-speed, though shockingly he isn't the fastest man in the DC Universe.

Nonetheless, Allen made superspeed in comic books what it is today. Quicksilver has been slated as his Marvel counterpart, but there is no comparing the two, to be frank. He possesses an unthinkable connection to the speed force, which is why he is almost always able to overcome any other speedster.

9 Reverse Flash

Reverse Flash DC Comics

Eobard Thawne is arguably the most well-known enemy of the Flash. Not only is he the inspiration for his namesake, but the two often mirror each other. His abilities are pretty standard for a DC speedster, but his lack of morality often tips the edge of battle.

Though Quicksilver isn't afraid to play dirty, Thawne originated playing dirty. His cunning and manipulative nature would allow him to think three steps ahead, and he isn't afraid to break a few ankles if he has to.

8 Superman

Superman is often slated as "faster than a speeding bullet" and his years as a hero has proved this claim tenfold. He has kept up with the Flash and has even beaten him on a few occasions. Though Superman may be a little overpowered for this fight, Quicksilver should consider it an honor, and a challenge.

Superman only gains his abilities while under the light of a yellow sun, so perhaps Quicksilver would stand a chance if there was an eclipse? Either way, powered or not, Clark Kent does not give up.

7 Hermes

Hermes

As a messenger for the Gods of Olympus, one has to be the quickest there is, and Hermes is just that. His winged sandals allow him to traverse the earth, battle gods and demons and even go against the Flash himself in the Injustice series.

Quicksilver may be fast, but he is no match for the literal god of speed. Hermes has countless lives worth of experience to draw from, and should the two ever come into contact, Quicksilver would more than likely find himself on his butt.

6 Amazo

Amazo

Created by professor Ivo to gain immortality, Amazo became a giant in his own right. His ability to mimic his opponents' powers has pitted him against the entire Justice League's combined efforts.

He has also evolved to retain particular abilities despite not being in the original character's vicinity. One such power is Flash's speed, which Amazo wields with concerning ease. If Quicksilver couldn't beat the Flash, there is no way this android would perform worse.

5 Black Racer

The Black Racer coming out of a Boom Tube

As an Avatar of death, Black Racer can kill with one touch. His skis, which can travel at the speed of light, are even capable of transporting him across the airless void of space. His numerous run-ins with The Flash has often put them at odds, though they are barely comparable. He is a master of all-terrain, not bound by the ground beneath his feet.

Quicksilver has bested many opponents in his tenure as an Avenger, though it is important to mention, never an acolyte of death. Even if Black Racer did not end it all with a touch, there is no way Quicksilver could move his legs faster than the Racer's skis.

4 General Zod

General Zod, Ursa, and son, Lor-Zod

General Zod is another Kryptonian with an incredible degree of experience. He has long been an enemy of Superman, operating as a radical ghost from a long-dead planet. While exposed to a red sun, he gains the same power set as Superman while still possessing his years of combat and strategy.

He can fly and run as fast as Superman, so it goes without saying that he would quite easily lap Quicksilver a few times. Not to mention, he is a mad man, so would undoubtedly play dirty. Having a Kryptonian ram you into the side of a building isn't exactly how you win a race, but perhaps Pietro would have a few cheeky moves of his own.

3 Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman

Not many people would consider Wonder Woman as one of DC's speedster characters. However, she has displayed impressive bursts of speed when needed. Wonder Woman can dodge and deflect bullets, which on average travel at around 1,8000mph. Not only that but having trained with the likes of Batman and Superman, Wonder Woman is ready for anything.

Her years of conditioning as a warrior have heightened her reaction speeds to enormous heights. Though she may not be the fastest DC hero by a longshot, her versatility and maneuverability make her a worthy contender for Quicksilver. He may outmatch her in raw power, but she could no doubt outmaneuver him if needed.

2 Jay Garrick

Jay Garrick running with lightning around him

Though Jay Garrick is a little older than most speedsters, he has still got what it takes to run circles around most heroes and villains. He laid the groundwork for most of the other speedsters, building a knowledge of the Speed Force that was undeniably helpful for Barry's tenure.

Quicksilver is perhaps in his prime, and though he has been able to accomplish impressive speeds, Jay Garrick has him outmatched in experience. He has a greater degree of knowledge to pull from, and a better understanding of his powers. Plus, his helmet sure is aerodynamic.

1 Wally West

Barry Allen is maybe the most renowned Flash, but he is certainly not the fastest. Wally West is the Speed Force's undisputed king. Having once been trapped in the Speed Force, Wally has built an almost spiritual connection to it.

He can travel at speeds far superior to his predecessors, all of which could already beat Quicksilver. Wally West travelled 7,000 miles in just over six seconds, a feat that would take Quicksilver significantly longer.
