The Batman Arkham series are some of the best superhero games ever made. The games weren't just great because of the clichéd "makes you feel like Batman" aspect, but also because of their care for the source material. It was nice to get a Batman adaptation that wasn't afraid to include the more outlandish comic book villains instead of trying to be gritty or realistic.

Plenty of other DC heroes would benefit from the Arkham Asylum treatment if given a chance. Characters with rich comic book histories that have yet to be explored in film are perfect candidates for these types of games. Other heroes would just be really fun to play due to their unique powers.

10 Green Lantern Has A Lot Of Interesting Lore

One of the best parts of the Arkham games was seeing all the different Batman characters that were included. There were obvious choices like the Joker and deep cuts like Anarky and Calendar Man. As a character with a lot of interesting lore surrounding him, Green Lantern would be perfect for this type of game.

Geoff Johns's run on Green Lantern introduced a bunch of great new characters and concepts to DC Comics. An Arkham-style game set in a city on an alien planet would be a great way for players to experience all the best parts of Green Lantern lore. The unique powers of a Green Lantern ring would also make for some very fun combat abilities.

9 Harley Quinn Would Have A Hilarious Game

DC seems to have really hit its stride with the iconic character that is Harley Quinn recently. Between her fun outings in Birds of Prey, The Suicide Squad, and her incredible HBO series, Harley has proven that she can be a great leading character, especially in more comedic stories.

The Arkham games are very serious affairs, so having a funny version would be a great new angle. The game could really shine with an M rating, allowing Harley to not hold back both in comedy and combat.

8 The Flash Would Create A Unique Experience

Wally West's Flash runs in DC Comics.

The Flash's powers are perfectly suited for an open-world action game. His ability to run at super speeds could create rival Spider-Man games for the best way to traverse a large map. There could also be a lot of satisfying combat encounters that allow players to zip around, taking out large crews of enemies.

Central City would also be a very different location from Gotham, which would make the game feel fresh. A great inclusion would be non-combat encounters where the Flash, be it Barry Allen or Wally West, could save citizens from various dangers. This could also play into how different the Flash is from Batman since Central City loves to celebrate the Scarlet Speedster and his good deeds.

7 A Wonder Woman Game Has Endless Potential

DC Comics' Wonder Woman flying in the sky in DC.

Wonder Woman would be a great choice because there are so many directions a game could take. Diana has been around for a long time, meaning that the game could be set in a variety of time periods and geographical locations.

Apart from just when and where the game takes place, several types of stories could be told. The game could take the typical superhero route — stick Diana in a city and have her fight popular villains. It could also easily focus more on the mythological side of her character. Of course, WB could take the true Arkham approach and give Diana her own series of games covering every possibility.

6 Green Arrow Fits The Fighting Style

Green Arrow leaps from the sky in his Rebirth Suit in DC.

The Arkham games had a well-defined combat system. Batman would mainly square off with a room full of goons or else be forced to stealthily take out his targets. As another hero without superpowers, Green Arrow would be the perfect fit for this style of game.

Green Arrow would be an easy transition from the Batman games to something similar. Combat could largely stay the same, and stealth sections would give players a chance to play around with some of Oliver Queen's trick arrows. It would also be an interesting tonal shift in the games, focusing on Oliver's progressive ideals as opposed to Batman's brutal style of retributive justice.

5 The Teen Titans Would Add Variety

Robin leads DC's The New Teen Titans (Donna Troy, Beast Boy, Kid Flash, Starfire, and Cyborg)

Gotham Knights is an interesting spiritual successor to the Arkham games, but it has a fatal flaw. The heroes featured in it all feel very similar. A much better team game in the vein of the Arkham series would be one focused on a diverse team like the Teen Titans.

The Teen Titans have a massive roster to choose from over the years that would offer a lot of cool possibilities. Cyborg would provide a great tank for combat encounters and also be able to hack into locked doors. Flying characters like Starfire or Raven would offer great methods for traveling around the city. There's also great storylines to pull from like "The Judas Contract" or "Friends and Foes Alike!"

4 The Birds of Prey Aren't A Big Departure From Batman

Birds of Prey members Black Canary, Huntress, and Batgirl in DC Comics.

The Birds of Prey tick a lot of the same boxes that Batman does. They operate out of Gotham City (sometimes), are more street-level heroes, and even have Oracle backing them up. A game starring the Birds of Prey could be a lot like an Arkham game, just with some improvements.

Instead of focusing on a single hero, a Birds of Prey game could instead have a small roster of heroes. Because Black Canary, Huntress, and Lady Blackhawk don't have any superpowers that are too intense, it would still make sense to have them battling groups of normal henchmen with the occasional DC villain mixed in. This would add a nice variety to the game without being too big a departure from Arkham.

3 Nightwing Is Basically Fun Batman

Nightwing is an easy choice to star in an Arkham-style game. He and Batman address similar levels of threats in their crime-fighting, and Arkham City's DLC already proved that Nightwing's combat style fits in the game.

While Nightwing may be similar to Batman in some ways, the difference in Dick and Bruce's personalities would help differentiate the games. Nightwing is a much more light-hearted hero than Batman, and the game could have more of a fun action tone than a dark mystery one.

2 Zatanna Would Introduce Supernatural Elements

Zatanna performs magic in DC Comics.

While some heroes would be well-suited for an Arkham game because of their similarities to Batman, Zatanna would be great for the opposite reason. Zatanna would have a completely unique style of fighting enemies, largely relying on magic abilities.

Zatanna's magic would be a really fun style of combat, and it would also introduce a different side of the DC Universe. Instead of dealing with Earthly threats, Zatanna could instead square off against supernatural villains like Allura or Mammon.

1 Static Both Fits & Breaks The Formula

Static Shock from DC.

Having a street-level hero makes a lot of sense for games in the style of the Arkham series. Because Static is a street-level hero, he could similarly fight a variety of lower-powered enemies and address several threats across the city.

While Static would allow for a similar setup as the Arkham games, playing as him would feel very different from Batman. Instead of gliding from rooftops, players could fly around on Static's iconic floating disk, and his electricity powers would offer a fun new way to defeat enemies.
