DC Comics have been around for a long time and they're here to stay. They gained the love of millions of fans thanks to their many great characters and storylines. What's more, they have a special talent for creating compelling romances or generally relationships between their heroes and villains.

Usually, it's the good guys who form a romantic bond, but not always. One of the most famous villainous couples includes Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. The two young women have been through a lot but they're always there for each other when needed and they proved they were the real deal multiple times.

10 Ivy Made Harley Immune

A lot of Gotham villains aren't very social but Poison Ivy takes this to a whole new level. She doesn't really like people and is much closer to her plants she takes care of.

The only exception from this rule? Harley Quinn. Even before the two started dating, they had a moment where they decided to work together and Ivy granted Harley an immunity against her toxins which is something she doesn't normally do for people.

9 Kissing Harley On The Cheek

Sometimes the strongest moments, the ones that speak for themselves, are those that don't need any actual conversation between the characters. Poison Ivy doesn't seem like a tender person but as far as Harley is concerned, she has a soft spot.

These two don't often enjoy a peaceful moment so when they got to sleep calmly, it was well-deserved. And before Ivy left, she kissed Harley on the cheek gently, proving her deep feelings in one simple gesture.

8 Easing The Mood

Harley has a sense of humor that not everybody appreciates, but Poison Ivy does. Most of the time, anyway. Harley knows how to read people so when she noticed that Ivy was a bit down, she decided to cheer her up, to lighten the mood by slightly whipping Ivy's butt with a towel.

Harley wouldn't do this to Ivy unless she knew that Ivy cared too much about her not to kill her for the seemingly insolent gesture.

7 Showering Together

Besides her plants, Harley is the only person Ivy likes to take care of. And Harley isn't afraid to return the favor. After a busy day, they decided to have a shower together and washed each other.

Again, it might seem like no big deal but when one compares it to the usual conversation between Harley and her former boyfriend, the Joker, the difference between the quality of these two relationships couldn't be more obvious. Ivy even wasn't too disgusted by finding a pinky toe stuck in Harley's hair. If that isn't real love, hard to say what is.

6 Kissing In The Moonlight

Neither Harley nor Ivy are big on romantic gestures. Probably partially because their busy lives don't allow them this opportunity. But they found the time to show their romantic side to one another when they shared a sweet kiss in the moonlight, with snowflakes swirling around them and Ivy's plants appearing nearby.

It seems like a scene from a romantic film, and again, it's something that Harley and the Joker would be highly unlikely to share.

5 They Were In A Non-Monogamous Relationship

To lead a romance with multiple people isn't for everyone, of course, but Harley and Ivy made it work nonetheless. It speaks volumes about the trust in the other woman since not everybody would be able to control the jealousy and the wish to have his or her beloved only for themselves.

But both Harley and Ivy have deep trust in each other, and whether they're also seeing someone else at the moment won't change it.

4 Ivy Supported Harley

Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy

The first encounter between the two villains didn't happen in the comics, as it usually does, but rather on a TV show, Batman: The Animated Series. And even back then, when they still were just friends, Ivy already proved that she cared about Harley and the other way around

Ivy tried to make Harley see that the toxic relationship with the Joker was no good for her, just as any good friend would have done. A similar plot point also appeared in the recent Harley Quinn animated series in which Ivy also showed Harley that the Joker was only using her.

3 Harley Stopped Ivy From Killing Everyone

It takes a special kind of courage to stand against your best friend. That's exactly what Harley did, though, and proved once and for all that she's just as important for Ivy as Ivy is for her. Harley teamed up with Batman and Nightwing in the 2016 animated film Batman and Harley Quinn to find Ivy and stop her plan to kill everybody.

It looked like Ivy wouldn't budge when the trio finally reached her but Harley was able to change her mind simply by crying and letting her puppy eyes do its magic.

2 They Got Married

Some people may wonder when exactly these two got married. True, it, unfortunately, didn't happen in the main continuity, but instead, it took place in the world of the Injustice series.

Poison Ivy randomly mentions that when they got married, there was an Elvis impersonator in Las Vegas. It's doubtful whether they will make it to the altar in the main comic book continuity, but it was still nice to have their relationship cemented this way.

1 Ivy Fought Zombies For Harley

Finally, one of the most romantic gestures Ivy ever did for Harley was when she fought zombies for her. In the DCeased comic book, most of humanity has turned into mindless violent creatures.

Harley first dealt with her ex and then took on the zombified Birds of Prey. Ivy rushed to her partner's defense and they end up ruling Gotham together in the end, like the proper power couple they've always been, even before they started dating.
