DC Comics' solicitations for January reveal a confrontation between Green Lantern Hal Jordan and Superman villain General Zod.
Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #37, by writer Robert Venditti and artists Rafa Sandoval and Jordi Tarragona, will kick off a new storyline titled "Power of Zod." In it, the Kryptonian supervillain seizes control of a small planet, drawing the attention of Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps.
Zod made his Rebirth debut in Suicide Squad, where Amanda Waller attempted to use the Kryptonian general as a weapon for Task Force X. Of course, he quickly proved to be too powerful to control and nearly wiped out the entire team. He next showed up in an Action Comics storyline in which Zod joined the Superman Revenge Squad. In the finale, Zod was able to free his family from the Phantom Zone, introducing Ursa and Christopher Kent into Rebirth continuity.
