DC's Harley Quinn has steadily risen in popularity over the years to become one of the comic publisher's most popular characters with multiple appearances in comics and in other media that includes multiple live-action appearances as one of the most successful characters in the DC Extended Universe.

Of course, Harley Quinn is a comparatively new character having only first appeared in the 90s following her debut in Batman: The Animated Series. So there are quite a few other female villains in the DC Universe who could make their own successful comic book movies to raise their own levels of popularity, and we'll be exploring a few of these characters today.

10 Poison Ivy Deserves Her Own Spotlight On The Big Screen

Poison Ivy during the New 52

Dr. Pamela Isley was transformed into the villainous eco-terrorist named Poison Ivy who gained the ability to control and manipulate plant life, which she used in her mission to take back planet Earth for the Green.

Poison Ivy is also Harley Quinn's BFF, frequent villainous ally and romantic love interest who has grown far past her origins as one of Batman's rogue's gallery. Her solo development in the DCEU could lead to further live-action appearances for Harley Quinn as well, making the character's live-action future even brighter.

9 Duela Dent Is The Maniacal Joker's Daughter... Maybe?

Duela Dent/The Joker's Daughter as she appears in the New 52.

While the character of Duela Dent has sometimes been an ally to heroic groups like the Teen Titans, modern versions of the Joker's Daughter have doubled down on her psychosis and made her a deadly new threat in the New 52.

A blending of these two versions of the character would be best suited for a live-action movie that explored some of the many villains of the DC Universe that Duela Dent claimed to be related to while also presenting an interesting new villain for film-goers to enjoy following the success of movies like Joker.

8 Rose Wilson Became Ravager As The Daughter Of Deathstroke

Rose Wilson Ravager Robin 1

The precognitive mercenary known as Ravager is really Rose Wilson, the highly-trained daughter of Slade Wilson/Deathstroke who took on her fallen brother's costumed identity to become an enemy of the Teen Titans, though she later joined with them as an ally.

Much like Harley Quinn, Ravager struggles with her heroic and villainous sides and often takes mercenary gigs only to stop other hired assassins from completing the hit. Ravager is not only a great character to explore on the big screen, but it would give Deathstroke another chance at live-action glory on the big screen.

7 Livewire Is A Shock DJ With Shocking Electrical Powers

While the character known as Livewire doesn't have the biggest comic history, she made a shocking debut on Superman: The Animated Series that made her stand out in the Man of Steel's rogues' gallery and led to a live-action appearance on Supergirl.

Leslie Willis was a shock DJ who made a living out of bashing Superman and became a villain to take him out after gaining powerful electrical abilities. Livewire is a unique personality and a dynamically visual character that could definitely carry her own Harley Quinn-like movie.

6 Jade Nguyen Is The Deadly Toxic Assassin Known As Cheshire

While the assassin named Cheshire may not have the same loveable qualities as someone like Harley Quinn, she has a very interesting story that has led to some emotional connections with heroes like Roy Harper/Arsenal and villains like Thomas Blake/Catman.

Jade Nguyen was sold into slavery as a child but later freed and raised by freedom fighters, where she learned how to fight and studied poisons and toxicology to become one of the deadliest women on the planet. Cheshire works as a mercenary and assassin and would bring a whole new element of villainy to the big screen.

5 Lady Shiva Is One Of The DC Universe's Most Skilled Martial Artists

Lady Shiva

Another DC villain that wouldn't fit quite the same mold as Harley Quinn given her almost complete lack of humor is Lady Shiva, who is widely regarded as one of the DC Universe's most deadly and skilled fighters.

However, Lady Shiva would introduce an interesting new antagonist filled with a ruthless drive to be the best that could potentially outdo any action sequence fans had seen in the DCEU so far, especially if paired with a more comedic element to really play off Lady Shiva's icy demeanor and deadpan attitude.

4 Miracle Molly is A New Gotham Villain Who Quickly Intrigued Fans

While not much is known yet about the new character of Miracle Molly, her teased debut alongside the gang known as the Unsanity Collective quickly intrigued fans both due to her unique design and plans for Gotham City.

Miracle Molly is a brilliant high-tech engineer who outfits her gang of thieves in order to steal more high-tech to repurpose for her plans to erase the failed system of Gotham's past that includes Batman in order to replace it with a new system controlled by her, which is a modern take on villainy that might do well on the big screen.

3 Sondra Fuller Was Transformed Into Lady Clay By An Evil Organization

Fans have been hoping to see the shapeshifting villain known as Clayface on the big screen for years, though there are a few different characters with similar abilities that have appeared over the years, including Sondra Fuller who was transformed into Lady Clay by the evil Kobra organization.

Lady Clay was transformed using the same mutagenic clay that turned Matt Hagen into Clayface II, which gave her additional power replicating abilities that further increased her threat level. Lady Clay also fell in love with Preston Payne/Clayface III and had a child named Cassius Clay who would also grow up to become the fifth Clayface.

2 Scandal Savage Is An Immortal's Daughter And Member Of The Secret Six

DC Comics' Scandal Savage in the Secret Six.

The DC Universe has been plagued by a powerful villain known as Vandal Savage, who began his life as a caveman before exposure to a crashed meteorite transformed him and granted him long-life and regenerative abilities, which he passed on in limited capacity to his daughter, Scandal Savage.

Scandal is incredibly durable, has regenerative abilities, and wields the deadly Lamentation Blades. She's also one of DC's few lesbian characters and is another member of the Secret Six who could both successfully carry her own movie while also teasing DC's fan-favorite villain team.

1 Catwoman Should Be Given A Second Chance To Headline Her Own Movie

Catwoman crashing through a window

While the character of Catwoman is no stranger to live-action as she has appeared in almost every Batman adaptation, she has only had one opportunity to carry her own solo movie in 2004 in the best left forgotten Catwoman starring Halle Berry.

However, Selina Kyle has a rich history in the DC universe both as a rival to and later member of the Bat-Family, though her adventures on her own range from cat burglary to crime boss to street-level hero. Catwoman also has a history with both Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy that almost saw the live-action adaptation of the Gotham City Sirens that fans still want to see on the big screen.
