In the wake of a schedule overhaul, DC FanDome's Superman: Man of Tomorrow premiere has been canceled.

CBR has learned that the animated Superman: Man of Tomorrow film's streaming debut, which was scheduled for this weekend's DC FanDome event, has been canceled. The premiere was noticeably absent from the updated DC FanDome schedule, which split the event into two days instead of one 24-hour extravaganza.

Originally, Superman: Man of Tomorrow was scheduled to have its virtual world premiere on Aug. 22 during the 7:15 p.m. ET screening. Stars Darren Criss, Brett Dalton, Ryan Hurst and Iké Amadi (were also scheduled to participate in a panel about the film with supervising producer Butch Lukic, director Chris Palmer and screenwriter Tim Sheridan. At the time of writing, neither event has been rescheduled.

The comic book from which this film takes is namesake -- Superman: The Man of Tomorrow -- launched in 1995 and ran for 16 issues until 1999. During that time, notable creators to work on the title included Roger Stern, Louise Simonson, J.M. DeMatteis, Tom Grummett and Ryan Sook, among others.

The film adaptation will depict the early days of Clark Kent's life as Superman as he balances being an intern at the Daily Planet with saving Metropolis. According to the film synopsis, "Daily Planet intern Clark Kent takes learning-on-the-job to new extremes when Lobo and Parasite set their sights on Metropolis."

Directed by Chris Palmer, Superman: Man of Tomorrow stars Darren Criss as Clark Kent/Superman, Zachary Quinto as Lex Luthor, Alexandra Daddario as Lois Lane, Brett Dalton as Lobo, Ryan Hurst as Rudy Jones/Parasite, Ike Aamadi as Martian Manhunter, Neil Flynn as Jonathan Kent and Bellamy Young as Martha Kent. The film arrives on digital HD on Aug. 23 and on Blu-ray and 4K UHD on Sept. 8.
