DC FanDome is this weekend, and the event is gearing up to be the biggest one of the summer. After SDCC@Home failed to give fans the same level of excitement it would have in-person, DC FanDome is ready to provide a bevy of announcement regarding all things DC.

But with so much already on the docket, it's hard to imagine other secrets the event may be keeping close to the vest. So, with that in mind, let's look at some of the biggest potential surprises that could come out of DC FanDome.

MAN OF STEEL SEQUEL ANNOUNCEMENT

Superman Man of Steel Henry Vacill

Since the movie hit theaters in 2013, many have been left wondering when a proper Man of Steel sequel would be announced. After Batman v Superman failed to properly continue Clark Kent's story, Superman has been pushed to the wayside in the DCEU, so much so that Henry Cavill seemingly left the role behind for a short time.

However, with the Snyder Cut bringing Cavill back into the fray, it seems he has smoothed things over with the powers that be at Warner Bros. With everyone on the same page for the first time in a while, announcing a sequel to Man of Steel seems like a logical move for a franchise that is looking for surefire winners.

SNYDER CUT FOLLOW-UP

Arguably the most anticipated panel at DC FanDome outside maybe The Batman is Zack Snyder's Justice Leauge. After years of campaigning online, fans were treated to the news that Snyder's original cut of Justice League would be released on HBO Max in 2021. While that announcement alone is enough to appease the masses, there's a golden opportunity here to do more.

Snyder's original vision for the DCEU saw Justice League broken into two parts. Obviously, after he left the project, those plans went out of the window, leaving just Joss Whedon's film to be released. However, with Snyder sitting on more story ideas, Warner Bros. would be smart to announce a follow-up to the Snyder Cut, whether it be in comic or animated form.

REVERSE-FLASH CASTING

The Flash has had a rough go of it in recent years. But after losing a director what felt like every few months, Ezra Miller's solo outing has finally found its captain in Andy Muschietti. The IT director's story for The Flash is said to be inspired by the iconic Flashpoint, which sees Barry Allen return to the past in order to save his mother, altering the timeline in the process.

For those who are unfamiliar, the main villain of that story is Eobard Thawne, aka Reverse-Flash. If the creative team of The Flash really wants to make a splash after years of uncertainty, announcing who will portray the Flash's archnemesis in his first solo outing would be the way to go about it.

BATMAN BEYOND CONFIRMATION

Following the news that Michael Keaton had signed on to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne in The Flash, many jumped to the idea of him appearing in a Batman Beyond movie. With Keaton's Batman set to play a "Nick Fury-like" role in the years to come, it would make all the sense in the world to see him pass the baton to another iteration of the Dark Knight.

While rumors have sprung up all over the internet regarding a Batman Beyond movie being in the works, there's been no official confirmation from Warner Bros. or DC. However, if the gears actually are spinning on such a project, there would be no better place to announce it than DC FanDome.

GREEN LANTERN UPDATE

The Green Lantern John Stewart prepares to strike as his eyes glow green in DC Comics

Late last year, long before the arrival of HBO Max, it was announced that a Green Lantern show would be coming to the new streaming platform. Helmed by Arrowverse architect Greg Berlanti, the series will boast feature film level of production as it attempts to reintroduce the Emerald Knight into live-action.

Since the initial announcement of the series, little has come out about this highly anticipated project. For Warner Bros. to prove that they aren't lollygagging around with their streaming service, it needs to provide fans with an update about this mysterious show, while also throwing in a casting announcement or two for good measure.

Taking place Saturday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. PT, DC FanDome will give fans the opportunity to hear from the cast and creators behind DC's movies and television shows including the Arrowverse shows, Aquaman, The Batman, Black Adam, Black Lightning, Zack Snyder's Justice League, Wonder Woman 1984 and much more.
