This week marks the eagerly anticipated release of Detective Comics #1000, the landmark anniversary issue of DC Comics' flagship superhero Batman.To help promote the upcoming, supersized special issue, DC has released a motion comic book trailer through its social media platforms, including an extensive look at some of the art within the 11 stories from a team of superstar comic creators behind the special.

DC officially kicked off its year-long 80th-anniversary celebration of Batman at SXSW in Austin several weeks ago, with additional events commemorating the creation of the iconic superhero planned around the world in the months to come, from art exhibitions to convention panels to fan expos.

The supersized anniversary issue will be available with dozens of different variant covers from acclaimed artists across the history of the character. Among the creators involved with the issue's collection of short stories are Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Tom King, Becky Cloonan, Jim Lee, Kevin Smith and Warren Ellis.

Detective Comics #1000 is by a whole host of superstar writers and artists. The issue is scheduled to go on sale March 27 from DC Comics.
