Today, via EW.com, DC Comics has ripped away the veil of mystery surrounding the opening chapters of its Multiverse-spanning summer event with the release of the solicitations text for "Convergence" #1-4, as well as Ivan Reis and Joe Prado's cover art for the double-sized first issue.
Announced in November 2014, the event includes 40 individual two-issue miniseries in addition to the main eight-issue "Convergence" title, which will be released weekly through April and May. Written by television veteran Jeff King, with the first issue co-written by Scott Lobdell, the series finds the heroes and villains of dozens of DC's Multiversal Earths kidnapped by the New 52 incarnation of Brainiac, forced to live and battle each other in a variety of domed cities.
Earlier this week, CBR debuted the cover art and solicitation copy for five of the tie-in series, giving readers some idea of what to expect from the storyline. Today's revelation adds more details to the mix, including the fact that in addition to the previously teased realities, the worlds of "Injustice: Gods Among Us" and "Generations" are among the battles' participants.
