Fans of the DC Universe are getting a treat on the first week of the new year with the release of Dark Nights: Death Metal #7. The finale of the epic event will see DC's heroes and villains working together to defeat the Darkest Knight, aka the Batman Who Laughs, with the most powerful Wonder Woman ever leading the charge.

CBR has an exclusive preview of Dark Nights: Death Metal #7 by Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Yanick Paquette, Bryan Hitch, Jonathan Glapion, FCO Plascencia, Nathan Fairbairn, Alex Sinclair and Tom Napolitano. The preview features an enormous Wonder Woman completely covered in gold facing off against the Darkest Knight, while DC's heroes and villains battle Robin King's army and various evil iterations of the Justice League from the Dark Multiverse.

RELATED: Superman and Wonder Woman Have the EXACT Same Final Form

Wonder Woman's powerful final form comes from combining her Lasso of Truth with Death Metal found in the World Forge. This fills Wonder Woman with Anti-Crisis Energy, making her strong enough to go toe-to-toe with the Darkest Knight while also making her the same color as her Lasso of Truth.

  • The song remains anything but the same as the house lights start to come up on DC’s biggest, baddest battle for control of the Multiverse! The Darkest Knight is on the verge of ending this concert once and for all, but Wonder Woman has more than just a greatest hit planned. The Amazonian warrior stands ready to shred the Darkest Knight, solo! Plus, this extra-sized finale issue includes not one but two mind-blowing epilogues that lead directly into the next phase of the DC Universe—and no fan will want to miss that!

The fallout from Death Metal will lead into Future State, a two-month, line-wide event beginning in January. February will feature a combination of monthly and twice-monthly oversize anthologies, as well as a monthly schedule of miniseries and one-shots starring current and future DC heroes. DC has revealed that the events of Future State will carry over into Infinite Frontier #0, a special one-shot that paves the way for the new DC Universe in 2021 and beyond.

Dark Nights: Death Metal #7 goes on sale Jan. 5, 2021 from DC.
