It started with the deaths of the Justice League, and things only got worse from there. With their parents, friends, guardians, and mentors nowhere to be found, the next generation of heroes had no choice but to step up and test their mettle against the forces of Deathstroke and his newly amassed Dark Army.

Luckily for the heroes, the Justice League couldn't stay dead for long -- nor could they stay away when their worlds and loved ones need them. They have managed to escape Pariah's grip, but the question remains -- can they make it back in time to join the battle? And if they do, will death stick this time? Written by Joshua Williamson, with art by Daniel Sampere and Rafa Sandoval, colors by Alejandro Sánchez, and letters by Troy Peteri, Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #6, entitled "Legacy War," brings the war of infinite earths and multiverses closer to its thrilling conclusion.

From the beginning, the Dark Crisis arc promised a comic blockbuster of a storyline, and it certainly delivered with a staggeringly huge cast, seemingly countless tie-in issues, and all the bloodshed, tears, angst, and drama that come with a massive event. Dark Crisis focused on the mystery behind the Justice Leagues' deaths, the discovery of Pariah's multiverses, the angst of the legacy heroes, and their choice to step up in Earth Zero's time of need. Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #6 brings all of these plots to a conclusion, tying up several loose ends to set the stage for a climactic battle. For so many characters and so many plotlines happening at once, Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #6 is a surprisingly and pleasantly clean read. Many characters on both sides get their chances to shine, whether in personal hand-to-hand combat or sentimental pep talks.

After so much tragedy, panic, and grief, Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #6, is surprisingly uplifting despite the nail-biting tension. The Justice League, freed from their Pariah-made prisons, is as determined as ever. Green Arrow gets his tender moment with Dinah before he reminds his friends that the time for sadness is over. Beast Boy gets a chance to brawl with Deathstroke; Nightwing uses his empathy in tandem with his strength to shake corrupted allies of Pariah's influence; Fox's Batman shows his incredible technical prowess at the best possible time. Jon Kent's Superman is the standout, giving a performance worthy of his moniker.

Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #6 is a mindboggling visual tour-de-force, especially on the part of artists Daniel Sampere and Rafa Sandoval, who cram the pages full of countless battling bodies and chaos. Colorist Alejandro Sánchez proves to be a perfect match, using tone and shadow to differentiate foreground battles from the background. With so much going on, both narratively and visually, it demonstrates great skill on the part of the artists and the colorist to create pages with so much action that are still easy to read. Each page resembles an ancient Roman tableau but with all the flair, slickness, and cleanliness that come with the contemporary aesthetic of modern DC comics.

The battle of Dark Crisis and the Dark Army is far from over, but for the legacy heroes, the battle for their parents' respect has been won. At once dramatic and tender, glorious and gory, chaotic yet clean -- Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #6 is a fabulous entry and a worthy setup for what's sure to be a wild finale.
