Are you a DC Comics fan who's dreamed of having the chance to browse the publisher's huge archive and get a sneak peek behind the scenes at the DC office? Well, today could be your lucky day.
The iconic publisher has started an Omaze campaign to benefit the Gay, Lesbian, & Straight Education Network and the organization's goal of creating safe and inclusive schools for everyone.
To be entered for a chance to win, fans must donate $10 towards the GLSEN campaign. By doing so, you automatically enter for you (and a friend) to visit the Fortress of Solitude: DC’s incredible archive library. The library is typically closed to the public, but should you win, you'll get to see the collection—which houses over 100,000 comics—as well as various movie props, original artwork and countless other DC artifacts in DC's Burbank office. The prize also includes accommodations and round-trip tickets to Los Angeles, California.
GLSEN, the organization which will benefit from this campaign, was founded in 1990 by Kevin Jennings. The goal of GLSEN is to create safe and inclusive schools in which every child learns to respect and accept all people—regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. The organization reaches millions of students and educators in K–12 schools across the United States annually.
As with most Omaze campaigns, there are various entry tiers for donors. If you're simply looking to get your name into the mix, you can donate $10 for 100 entries. However, you also have the option to donate $25 for 2,500 entries, $50 for 5,000 entries, and so on with the highest tier being $5,000 for 50,000 entries.
Whichever option you choose, it's important to remember that your money is going towards a good cause, so even if you don't win, you're still a hero at the end of the day. If you haven't already entered, you're going to want to donate soon, since the campaign closes in a little over a day.
