DC is set to introduce a new Flash during its upcoming DC Future State publishing initiative. Future State's Justice League will be comprised over new characters and legacy heroes, and the team's resident scarlet speedster will be Jess Chambers, aka Kid Quick, a genderfluid non-binary superhero hailing from Earth-11.

According to Screen Rant, Kid Quick is a member of Earth-11's Teen Justice, who will make their debut in an eight-page story for Ivan Cohen and Eleonora Carlini's DC’s Very Merry Multiverse. Kid Quick, will then transition over to Future State: Justice League as the team's official Flash. Kid Quick's aunt is current-day speedster Jesse Quick.

"I suggested that Kid Quick could be Earth-11's first genderfluid character, and once editors saw Eleonora Carlini's terrific take on the character design, there was suddenly a lot of interest in them for stories beyond the Merry Multiverse Special in December," Cohen told Screen Rant.

The Justice League of DC Future State will have their secret identities hidden from each other, with a first issue cover featuring new takes on Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern and Aquaman. Other titles under the Justice League Family for DC Future State include Justice League Dark, Swamp Thing, Shazam, Teen Titans and Suicide Squad.

A description of the Justice League Family of Future State titles reads, "A thread of great change runs through the Justice League heroes: a new League is built upon secret identities (even from each other), but an old and evolved enemy will use these secrets to try and overthrow the world. For the supernatural heroes of Justice League Dark, the very fabric of reality has shifted, and heroes are being hunted."
