While the Justice League and Suicide Squad are two of the more famous and well-known teams in the DC Comics universe, there have been several different teams and iterations of those iconic teams that have populated the multiverse. One such team was the Justice League Task Force.

A spin-off of Justice League: Europe, Justice League Task Force was a series that saw a U.N. sanctioned strike team of heroes assembled by Martian Manhunter to take on special missions. Here are the ten most powerful heroes to join the task force over the course of the series. As long as the character took part in at least one mission, they are eligible for this list.

10 Green Arrow

Many of the heroes on this list are divided up by the number of missions they undertook as a member of the strike force. The missions varied from stopping assassinations to preventing biological attacks and more. As the heroes came and went, other heroes would step in for one mission, only to disappear themselves.

One such hero was Green Arrow, aka Oliver Queen. The famed billionaire turned activist and hero is a skilled archer, a hard-fought survivor, and not the easiest hero to get along with. Definitely not one for teamwork, Oliver only went on one mission with the team.

9 Blue Beetle

One hero who went on up to five missions with the team was Ted Kord, the second hero to name himself the Blue Beetle. The longtime friend of Booster Gold and a well-known industrialist, Ted became the Blue Beetle to fight crime and often became the comic relief in both his own series and the Justice League comics over the years.

Always getting involved in Booster Gold’s get rich quick schemes, Ted brought some humor to the Justice League Task Force, making light of situations that would otherwise be life or death. He became a well-established hero as the years went on.

8 Booster Gold

Of course, you can’t have Ted Kord’s Blue Beetle without his best friend, the time-traveler and wannabe hero Booster Gold. A former athlete from the far future, the man was ousted for illegal gambling on his own games. In order to regain his fame and fortune, he traveled back in time to become a superhero.

Always a source of humor in the DC Universe, his obsession with fame would always be a sticking point for the other heroes of the DC Universe, and yet he always fought to protect the timeline and joined several Justice League teams.

7 Vixen

One powerful hero who made a single appearance in the series was the strong, heroic crime fighter known as Vixen. A young woman named Mari McCabe, Vixen moved to American and became a well-known model in New York City to amass wealth. She then used her wealth to travel back to her home in Africa, which was destroyed by her villainous uncle.

Mari returned to get the famed totem necklace her grandmother had left her but had been stolen by her uncle. The totem gave Vixen the ability to channel the powers of various animals, making her a formidable hero to face.

6 Metamorpho

One hero who has a lot of power and went on around five missions with the Justice League Task Force was Rex Mason, known as the Element Man or Metamorpho. Rex was an adventurer and engaged to his employer’s daughter, Sapphire Stag, when his would-be father in law Simon Stag left him for dead on a mission to recover a rare Egyptian artifact.

However, the artifact turned out to be a powerful meteorite whose radiation transforms Rex into Metamorpho. Using his shapeshifting abilities and his power to become any element known to man, Rex proved to be a powerful ally to the Justice League

5 Martian Manhunter

One of the only heroes to be a staple of the team was the would-be team leader, Martian Manhunter. The hero was chosen by the United Nations to handpick the team of heroes who would go on each mission.

Martian Manhunter, aka J’onn J’onzz, is known as one of the last survivors of his people the Martians. A powerful and disciplined leader and hero, the shapeshifting, super strong and telepathic hero is one of the task force's greatest assets and acted as the backbone of the team.

4 Batman

The four most powerful heroes to join the task force are well known, well-established members of the Justice League in general. The first of these heroes is Batman, otherwise known as Bruce Wayne. The billionaire hero who fights crime in the streets of Gotham and beyond underwent a special mission for the task force.

The team helped Bruce Wayne during the events of Batman: Knightfall, particularly the event Knightquest. During this time, Bruce Wayne had been injured by Bane and Jean-Paul Valley was filling in for Bruce, tarnishing his reputation. The team helped Bruce track down Jack Drake, Tim Drake’s father.

3 The Flash (Wally West)

One of the most powerful heroes of the DC Universe is The Flash. The man who took the mantle and joined the Justice League Task Force for a few missions was Wally West, arguably the fastest man alive.

Wally, however, refused to join the team full time after he learned that his friend Nightwing had been used by Hannibal Martin, the task force's liaison with the U.N., and set up to fail on a mission to stop an assassination. Martin knew Nightwing wouldn’t take a life, and orchestrated events that led to an election of a rebel leader to a Presidential role in another country.

2 Aquaman

The task force arguably is determined based on the threats the team is set to face on each mission. When the team is set to face a global or aquatic threat, then they need the second most powerful hero the team has ever had to join them, Aquaman.

Otherwise known as Arthur Curry, the half-human, half-Atlantean King of Atlantis is one of the most powerful heroes in the world and a diplomat for the once secretive underwater nation of Atlantis. While he only joined the team on one mission, Aquaman's presence is nearly impossible to ignore.

1 Wonder Woman

The most powerful hero to ever join the team was hands down Wonder Woman. Diana Prince, Princess of the Amazons and Themyscira, is a powerful member of the Justice League overall. Tied directly to Greek mythology and with close ties to the Greek Pantheon of Gods, Diana is a determined and formidable warrior.

With strength and courage that knows no bounds, Diana takes to the battlefield and fights no matter the cost. Her compassion, strength, and warrior-bound honor make her impossible to fight for most villains, and it is for these reasons that she joined the team for five different missions.
