10 Joker Fish

Despite having only appeared in a few storylines, Joker’s famous “Joker Fish” are still one of the character’s more popular gag items. Technically speaking, these fish weren’t exactly harmful, though they are definitely frightening to look at.

During their original debut, Joker held various Gotham City officials hostage, all so he could register a trademark on his fish. Since then, the fish have appeared in Grant Morrison’s run, and on occasion throughout several other Batman related series. While they don’t really do much, there’s no denying just how popular the fish are, earning them a spot on this list.

9 Joker Car

Of course, with Batman having a Batmobile of his own, it only makes sense for Joker to eventually get a car for himself. Unlike in the Suicide Squad (2016) film, however, the comic book version of his car features a much less sleek design, and something far more silly.

Like Batman’s Batmobile, Joker’s car is certainly themed after its driver, but also considered to be one of the worst designs for a vehicle ever. Though there have been several different versions of the car throughout the years, all designs have been fairly poor making the purple Lamborghini from the movie one of the better interpretations. With several deadly gadgets of his own equipped to his ride though, Joker’s car is still one of the deadlier things the criminal has used against Batman.

8 Exploding Gift Boxes

In the comics and several other forms of media, the Joker has been known to leave explosive presents for Batman or other individuals of Gotham City. Though the boxes don’t always explode, they are still one of the villains more iconic gags, making it easy to see why they made their way to the cartoons and movies.

Furthermore, for as often as Joker uses a gag like this, one would think that the World’s Greatest Detective would eventually figure out a way around whatever trap joker has set. Granted, sometimes the only way to get a clue, is to open the box, but it still seems like there should be a much better way to go about it. Even if explosives aren’t inside the package, Joker always makes clever use of the surprises within the brightly colored wrapping.

7 Electric Buzzer

Like the gift boxes, Joker’s electric buzzer is one of the more commonly used items from the character. Over the years, this item has evolved, sometimes incorporating an injection of Joker Venom instead of delivering an electric shock, though both versions have been known to kill people.

In a more famous instance, Jack Nicholson’s version of Joker famously kills someone using the electric buzzer back in the Batman (1989) film. 6 Razor Cards

Almost every fan of the Joker knows that the character likes to leave behind the “Joker” playing card as he commited his crimes. For years, the cards have become synonymous with the villain, especially through their various uses.

While not every card is like this, Joker has been known to use razor sharp versions of the playing cards as weapons, typically like projectiles similar to throwing stars. Similarly to Batman, Joker has been known to throw some of these like his own Batarangs. Though they have had other uses in the comics over the years, this is definitely one of the Joker’s more signature items, proving to be just as deadly as the villain himself.

5 Boxing Glove Arm

Though it may not be as deadly as other items on this list, Joker’s boxing glove arm is still one of his more iconic gadgets. Much like Green Arrow’s boxing glove arrow, this gadget is so ridiculous that fans have come to love it in their own way.

On top of delivering a powerful punch, Joker’s boxing glove arm has made appearances in the cartoons and movies as well. Generally speaking though, it never really does much damage, typically leaving his opponents slightly stunned for a bit. Despite its goofy and non-threatening nature, though, the boxing glove arm remains one of the character’s more popular gadgets, especially beyond the comic book pages.

4 Chattering Teeth

3 Acid Flower

Joker’s acid flower is another common gadget across several media platforms. Like the electric joy buzzer, this gadget also appears in the Batman film, as well as in games like Injustice. Considering how, with a mere pinch of his fingers, Joker can douse his opponent in acid, this is also one of the more extreme gadgets used by the Clown Prince of Crime.

Over the years, this has also been one of Joker’s more common gadgets, making more frequent appearances than many other things on this list. Furthermore, readers and Batman almost never know when it is equipped, giving the villain the added element of surprise. Yet, however popular this gadget may be, it is still not one of Joker’s most iconic items.

The Joker Bang Gun

In some versions, the gun is actually real, with the Bang! Flag being a blank bullet of sorts. At times, this has saved Batman or Joker’s victims, but sometimes also fooled them in the process. With no way of knowing if the gun will actually fire or not, the gun is a great reflection of how Joker can be as a character. The villain’s unpredictable nature truly reflects itself well within this gadget alone, making it one of the character’s best accessories ever.

1 Joker Venom

On top of everything else the Joker likes to utilize, Joker Venom is one of the most common and deadly things ever used by the character. With the ability to make almost anyone laugh, Joker Venom leaves a very horrific smile on its victims as they literally laugh themselves to death.

Likewise, since Joker is constantly changing the formula, Batman himself is constantly making antidotes to cure citizens or himself from the villain’s next attack. Whether it is a combination of Joker’s own formula with Scarecrow’s Fear toxin, or simply Joker’s own recipe, the victim is consistently leaving behind bodies with smiles on their faces. Aside from his iconic playing cards, no other item or weapon is likely more associated with the Joker.
