If one hero could be said to be iconic enough to have their name be synonymous with the DC Comics brand, it would be Batman. The longtime hero and vigilante is a symbol of heroism and expert storytelling in the field of comic books and is known for having some of the strongest storylines in DC Comics history.

After his return to the modern-day DC Universe following Final Crisis and Batman R.I.P., Bruce decided to take his war on crime to a whole new level, by creating Batman Incorporated. Here are the ten most powerful members of Batman Inc.

10 Nightrunner

One of the most unique and underutilized members of Batman Inc who could use more storylines going forward is Nightrunner. Real name Bilal Asselah, the young boy is a French-Algerian living in Paris when he and his friend are injured when caught in the crossfire between protestors and the police.

After his friend passes away, Bilal becomes the vigilante hero Nightrunner, sworn to uphold Batman’s ideology of defending what’s right no matter a person’s race or religion. A skilled free runner and parkour expert, Nightrunner assisted Batman in taking down a child-slavery ring in Paris, joining Batman Inc in the process.

9 Oracle

One of the earliest additions to the team was Batman’s close ally Barbara Gordon, aka Oracle. Once known as Batgirl, the hero was forced to don the mantle of Oracle after becoming paralyzed in an attack by the Joker. During the years of Batman Inc, Barbara became a master tech expert, helping to guide and direct various teams and heroes.

Barbara was a powerful ally to Batman over the years. Her expertise in all things computers led to some of Batman’s most advanced security systems, and often she served as the heart of the team of heroes, becoming a powerful asset to the team.

8 Robin

Another crucial addition to the Batman Inc initiative was Damian Wayne, aka Batman’s son and the next person to don the mantle of Robin. Damian Wayne is the son of Talia al Ghul and grandson of Ra’s al Ghul and spent the first few years of his life being trained and raised by the League of Assassins.

However, Damian soon came to accept and adopt his father’s code of heroism, albeit reluctantly. He often joined Batman in many of his various adventures, including the Batman Inc initiative. He was also Robin to Dick Grayson's Batman when the latter took over the mantle for a time.

7 Red Robin

The most technically gifted Robin to ever take on the mantle was Tim Drake, who eventually changed his alias to Red Robin. Tim Drake came into the fold after the loss of Jason Todd. Having discovered the alias of Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson himself, he earned a spot on the team and became Red Robin.

Drake is a genius in every right, who has started studying the most advanced technology on the planet and, as of late, the multiverse. An integral part of the Batman Inc team, Red Robin is responsible for some of Batman’s most advanced weaponry and security systems.

6 Batwing

While a few different individuals have taken on the mantle of this next hero, the one who joined Batman Inc was David Zavimbe, aka Batwing of Tinasha, a city within the Democratic Republic of Congo. The hero was a former child forced to become a child soldier in a war that ravaged his company, alongside his brother Issac.

They both became skilled warriors but turned on their General after refusing to take innocent lives, resulting in Issac’s passing. David refused to take more lives, escaped and became a police officer. Later, Batman chooses David to help fight the organization Leviathan and gives him an advanced Bat-suit, becoming Batwing.

5 Red Hood

One of the more volatile members of the Batman Inc team is none other than Red Hood. Formerly the second Robin, Jason Todd, Red Hood became a more violent, permanent solution type of hero after he lost his life to the Joker, only to be resurrected and forever changed by the Lazarus Pit.

At first, Red Hood came to blows with Batman and his team for their non-violent solutions to crime; however, the two eventually reconciled and reached a truce. Jason has since remained a member of the Bat-family, despite Bruce’s hard stance on taking lives.

4 Nightwing

The next hero who rightfully had a spot on the Batman Inc team was Nightwing, aka Dick Grayson. Dick was the very first hero to don the Robin identity and later struck out on his own as Nightwing. He is a founding member of the Teen Titans and Titans and was serving as Batman in Bruce’s absence at the time Batman Inc formed.

While Bruce traveled the world establishing the global network, Dick still served as Batman in Gotham until Bruce finally returned. Dick Grayson is a skilled acrobat and crime fighter and does so with humor and wit, making him perfect for the team.

3 Batwoman

The third most powerful member of the team is hands down Batwoman, aka Kate Kane. After the first Batwoman, Kathy Kane, left Bruce after she fell in love with him and refused to tell her boss Doctor Dedalus his secret identity, Kate, the new Batwoman, led Bruce and fellow hero El Gaucho to the Falkland Islands, where she discovered Dedalus was being held.

They discovered a meta-gene bomb was about to be set off on the island, and Batman stopped it. They also learned that Dedalus was suffering from Alzheimer's and leading the terrorist organization Leviathan, in an attempt to finish his work.

2 Cassandra Cain

One of the most dangerous yet beloved heroes to join Batman in any adventure, let alone Batman Inc, has to be Lady Shiva's daughter, Cassandra Cain. Raised to be the perfect assassin from birth by her villainous father David Cain, the young girl fought her programming to become a hero similar to Batman, fighting to save lives rather than take them.

Cassandra has taken many mantles over the years, such as Batgirl and Orphan, but during her years as Batman Inc’s Hong Kong representative, she was known as Black Bat. Cassandra is a formidable warrior, having been trained to use her body as a living weapon against her enemies.

1 Batman

Of course, the most powerful member of Batman Inc is the namesake hero himself, Batman. Aka Bruce Wayne, Batman started the team after he was long thought dead after being struck by Darkseid’s Omega Beams during the final battle in Final Crisis. However, Bruce was actually stuck in the past and fought to return to the present.

Following his return and his time spent hiding from a world that thought he was gone, Bruce returned to the Batman mantle and set out to establish a global network, using the Batman symbol to strike fear into criminals on every continent using new and established Bat-heroes.
