The British Royal Mail's newest sets of stamps show artist Jim Cheung's interpretation of the Justice League and the Bat Family in all their glory.

The newest entrants in the Royal Mail's DC Collection, the Justice League stamps feature Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Green Lantern (Jessica Cruz), The Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman, Supergirl and Shazam. The Bat Family stamps show Batman, Batwoman, Robin, Batgirl, Alfred, Nightwing, Joker, Harley Quinn, the Penguin, Poison Ivy, Catwoman and The Riddler. The stamps were all illustrated by Cheung and colored by Laura Martin.

"I'm very excited to share this absolute honor and highlight of my career, and I can't tell you how much of a thrill it was to be asked!" Cheung wrote on Instagram. "As a child, I used to collect stamps (if you didn't realize what a nerd I was, that should be a good indicator), so never did I imagine in my wildest dreams that there'd be a collection with MY art on them! When this opportunity fell across my desk, there was no way I could refuse, and besides, it was for the QUEEN!! To get Royal approval, well it just doesn't get any better for this kid from the UK!!"

In another post, Cheung shared artwork for the Batman set and commented on the unique challenge of drawing a detailed image for such a tiny space.

"I'm so used to drawing for comic print size, that switching to something that would literally be the size of a postage stamp made me rethink things a little," Cheung wrote. "It became a fun challenge to pack in as much detail as possible without creating a jumbled mess for the final printed size."

The Royal Mail is no stranger to pop culture stamps and has previously released sets showcasing both U.K. comic mainstays like Judge Dredd and American superheroes from both DC and Marvel. In 2019, the Royal Mail released a set of Marvel stamps by Alan Davis that were similar to Jim Cheung's Justice League set. The stamps featured British characters like Captain Britain, Union Jack and Peggy Carter, as well as Spider-Man and the Avengers.

Currently available for pre-order on the Royal Mail website, the stamps will be released on Sept. 17 and are available for purchase in a wide variety of formats, ranging from a single stamp sheet for £5.10 (about $7) to a pricier collector's set with a limited edition box and certificate of authenticity for £49.99 (about $69).
