With the recent release of DC's Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), comic book fans can't seem to get enough of all-female superhero teams. Luckily for those fans, there are plenty of these such teams to choose from in comics.

Whether it be DC, Marvel, or a few other of the comic book companies on the market right now, there are several current examples of great females superhero teams. Superhero fans itching to see more may want to catch up on all of these great stories. Here are ten all-female comic book teams for fans of Birds of Prey.

10 Birds of Prey (Comic Version)

For fans of the recently released movie, it is a good idea to check out the Birds of Prey team from the comic books. While the movie was great, and its roster of characters was very compelling, it didn't quite completely capture the scope of the team in the comic books.

Two characters, in particular, were missing from the movie that would have made it much better. Those two were Batgirl and Batwoman. As two of the most famous DC heroines in the comic books, it was a shame that they didn't make it onto the big screen. Some good news for fans of the show though, as these characters can be found in plenty of stories from the Birds of Prey comics.

9 Lady Liberators

The original Lady Liberator squad was actually a group of mind-controlled superheroes being used by the Enchantress to fight their male colleagues. A second iteration of the team, led by She-Hulk, fought for more heroic aims.

This team of lady-heroes consisted of She-Hulk, Black Widow, Spider-Woman, Tigra, Hellcat, Invisible Woman, Storm, Valkyrie, and Thundra. It may, in fact, be one of the most powerful superteams to ever be assembled, female or otherwise.

8 The Amazons

Amazons Attack Cropped

Diana Prince, also known as Wonder Woman, is by far the most popular member of the all-female Amazons. From time to time, she teams up with other members of her race to fight against the forces of darkness.

Some of the other great, noble members of the amazing race include Hippolyta, Antiope, Wonder Girl, Artemis, and Nubia among others. When fighting together, there are few obstacles in the entire DC universe that these fierce women cannot defeat.

7 X-Men (2013)

In 2013, the X-Men got their very first all-female iteration of the team. Led by Storm, the rest of the team members were Rogue, Psylocke, Kitty Pryde, Jubilee, and Rachel Grey. One of the best things about this iteration of the X-Men is that it was no big deal. They were all female. So what?

Instead of batting readers over the head with that fact, the writers decided to focus on making each of these female characters as well-rounded and intriguing as they possibly could be. It was a great team and we're likely to see another all-female X-Men squad in the future.

6 Spider-Women

Silk, Spider-Woman and Spider-Gwen as Spider-Women

Following the massively popular Spider-Verse event in the Amazing Spider-Man comic book series, many spider-characters from different universes began crossing over with one another. This led to a team-up of some of the best Spider-Women to have ever graced a Marvel comic page.

Between Jessica Drew's Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, and Spider-Girl, there are plenty of great female spider-characters to choose from in the Marvel universe. Seeing them all team up at the same time was quite the treat.

5 Female Furies

Although the Furies are traditionally a supervillain group loyal to Darkseid, at times they have broken ranks and formed new teams in opposition to him.

The Female Fury most famous for leaving the team and opposing Darkseid is Big Barda. Barda went on to fall in love with a prisoner on Apokolips named Mr. Impossible, and she eventually even joined the Justice League.

4 Fearless Defenders

An offshoot of the Defenders superhero team, the Fearless Defenders are a ragtag group of female superheroes that aren't exactly afraid to get their hands dirty.

Led by the Asgardian Valkyrie and the New York City supercop Misty Knight, this team is meant to fill the void of the elite Asgardian Valkyior battalion. They live up to the name of that ancient warrior fighting force.

3 Dora Milaje

Dora-Milaje

The Black Panther's elite royal guard is made up of all-female warriors. Called the Dora Milaje, this royal guard also doubles as the Wakandan special forces.

The Dora Milaje didn't come to full prominence until the release of 2018's Black Panther. Now, after their debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this elite team of Wakandan warriors has finally received the credit it was due.

2 Daughters of the Dragon

As a sort of female equivalent to the Heroes For Hire, the Daughters of the Dragon has long been one of the coolest street-level superhero teams to ever grace the pages of a Marvel comic.

Colleen Wing is a master martial artist. Misty Knight, on the other hand, is a gun-wielding, supercop detective with a super-strong bionic arm. The two heroes complement each other perfectly and are one of the standout teams, female or male, of the Marvel universe.

1 A-Force

Female Avengers

Originally debuting in the massive crossover Secret Wars event, the A-Force was the first-ever prominent Avengers team to be made up of only heroes. While this was done on purpose in Secret Wars, in the mainstream Marvel continuity, the A-Force characters come together naturally without feeling too forced.

The roster of the team is made up of the Inhuman Queen Medusa, She-Hulk, Singularity, Dazzler, Nico Minoru, and Captain Marvel as their leader. This is quite possibly the most powerful team on this list. According to some Marvel Cinematic Universe rumors, an all-female team such as this may be coming to the big screen sooner rather than later.
