Ever since the start of James Tynion IV's run on Batman, the Joker has steadily been building his power base culminating in this summer's crossover event, "Joker War."DC Comics has released a new teaser image by series artist Jorge Jimenez for the epic story, teasing that this confrontation between the Dark Knight and the Clown Prince of Crime will be "the final chapter to their story." The villain is seen holding a film tin for The Mark of Zorro, the classic film that inspired Bruce Wayne to become Batman as a child, and the last movie he saw with his parents before they were murdered.
After introducing his new, lethal sidekick Punchline, the Joker has since begun targeting Batman's allies, including Nightwing and Batgirl, while the Dark Knight pushes himself past his physical and mental limits to keep his city safe.
With virtually every single Bat Family title involved, the villain appears poised to seize the Caped Crusader's precious armory and turn it against all of Gotham City in what is sure to be an explosive showdown between the two longtime adversaries.
Written by James Tynion IV and illustrated by Jorge Jimenez, Batman #95 goes on sale July 21 from DC Comics.
