A new Batman digital first anthology series will debut in May, sporting a classic title.

Legends of the Dark Knight will be released digitally in 10-page weekly "chapters," with two digital chapters comprising one print issue. The opening story arc by Darick Robertson (TransmetropolitanThe Boys) features Batman tracking down a criminal who is selling deadly chemicals to villains including the Joker and Mr. Freeze.

Other writers on Legends of the Dark Knight include Becky Cloonan (Future State: Immortal Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman) and Brandon Easton (Transformers War For Cyberton: EarthriseMister Miracle: The Source of Freedom) and artists including Dike Ruan (Shang-Chi) and Nina Vakueva (Black Cat, King in Black: Return of the Valkyries). Robertson will provide the cover for the first print issue of Legends of the Dark Knight, with David Marquez and Francesco Francavilla.

Legends of the Dark Knight is the latest anthology from DC to center around Batman. DC previously launched an all-new Batman: Black and White miniseries in late 2020, and will launch Batman: Urban Legends in March which centers around the Dark Knight's allies and enemies. Previous incarnations of Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight featured untold stories of Batman's adventures, with stories such as "Prey" and "Venom" delving into the history of villains including Hugo Strange and Bane respectively.

Legends of the Dark Knight will launch digital chapters starting on Apr. 2, 2021. The first print issue will go on sale on May 18, 2021 from DC.
