Batman/Catwoman Clay Mann teased two mysterious characters joining the upcoming limited series.

"Batman&Catwoman," Mann tweeted. "Last week to order. Who are these two???" The two faceless characters stand facing the city of Gotham -- only their backs visible to the viewers -- as the Bat-Signal shines on a clock tower in front of them and several zeppelins patrol the sky.

Mann offered no hint as to whether these characters were new additions to the DC world or simply already established characters in a new context. This left many fans offering their own ideas. One theory that seems particularly popular is that these two are Helena and Damian Wayne, Bruce Wayne's daughter with Selina Kyle and his son with Talia al Ghul, respectively.

Batman/Catwoman will chronicle the passionate -- and somewhat tumultuous -- relationship between Batman and Catwoman through the past, the present and the future. In addition to providing fans with a new look at the two iconic characters, these different time periods will also reveal new stories and characters, such as the ones featured in Mann's sketch.

  • At last, Tom King returns to the rocky, romantic saga of Batman and Catwoman with his Heroes in Crisis collaborator, superstar artist Clay Mann!
  • Echoing plot points from King’s epic Batman run, this sweeping tale is told across three timelines: the past, when the Bat and the Cat first fell in love; the present, where their union is threatened by one of Batman’s lost loves; and the future, where the couple have a happy life and legacy—including their daughter Helena, the Batwoman. And as the story begins, after a long marriage, Bruce Wayne passes away—which frees Selina Kyle to settle an old score.
  • At every stage of their relationship, Bruce and Selina have an unwelcome chaperone: The Joker!
  • Oh, and that lost love of Bruce’s? It’s Andrea Beaumont—a.k.a. Phantasm. Just thought you’d want to know.

Batman/Catwoman #1, by Tom King and Clay Mann, goes on sale Dec. 1 from DC.
