Thanks to some nifty new fan art, we don't have to simply dream-up Orion's live-action look in the upcoming New Gods film. A DCEU mega-fan took to Reddit to post a live-action rendition of Orion, very much in the style of the established DCEU aesthetic, just to give us a taste of what we can maybe expect in director Ava DuVernay's upcoming movie.

It was announced back in March that DuVernay had been hired to tackle a DC project, and it was later confirmed that the project was indeed a fresh take on Jack Kirby's Fourth World epic, The New Gods. It was even DuVernay who approached Warner Bros. and DC Films with the movie idea, not the other way around, as one would expect.

While the film is still in "early" stages of development, DuVernay has signed on for the live-action epic, making her the third female director to tackle a DCEU film, after Patty Jenkins of Wonder Woman fame and Cathy Yan, who has been hired to helm the Harley Quinn-led Birds of Prey.

The New Gods is the brainchild of the legendary Jack Kirby and includes the likes of Big Barda, Granny Goodness, Orion, Metron and, of course, Darkseid. They debuted in 1971’s The New Gods #1 and quickly cemented themselves as comics legends. More recently, Tom King and Mitch Gerads’ Mister Miracle comic book run has become an introduction to the many denizens of Apokolips and New Genesis.

DC's The New Gods has yet to lock down a release date.
