DC Comics' blog The Source has released a preview of the collected editions the publisher will put out in summer 2011. Standing front and center is a hardcover collecting recently minted DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns' first issues of his career-defining run on The Flash.

For a reader and a fan, The Flash by Geoff Johns Omnibus, Vol. 1, collects the first stories of what would become decisive moments for the modern Flash -- the first 12 issues of Johns' run on The Flash (#164-#176), as well as the one-shots The Flash: Our Worlds at War and The Flash: Iron Heights, and the well-liked The Flash Secret Files #3.

For industry watchers and armchair pundits like me, it's doubly interesting for its focus on one creator: DC has been rare in highlighting a particular creator's mark on a character in the DCU; notable exceptions include the Alan Moore collection because it's, well, Alan Moore. With the release of this weighty text, it's one more sign that Geoff Johns has made an indelible mark on DC. Can a companion Green Lantern by Geoff Johns Omnibus be far behind?
