DC Announces "Adventures of Supergirl" Digital Series From Gates, Bengal

Fans of CBS' new "Supergirl" series will soon have a Supergirl comic to enjoy in addition to the live-action show. IGN has revealed new details about the upcoming digital first series "Adventures of Supergirl," which will begin a bi-weekly publication schedule starting in January.

The series, which will be released on Mondays starting on January 25, comes from writer Sterling Gates and a rotating roster of artists. Bengal will handle art duties for the first three chapters with Jonboy Meyers, Emanuela Lupacchino, and Emma Vieceli coming on board afterwards. The series will last for 13 chapters and will be collected into a graphic novel upon completion.

The announcement also states that while the series won't tie-in directly with the CBS show, it will be set in that universe with Supergirl working alongside the DEO to combat alien threats while maintaining a civilian identity as Kara Danvers at CatCo. Villains like Rampage, Vril Dox and Psi will appear in the digital first series.

"Adventures of Supergirl" debuts on January 24, 2016.
