As the year winds down, DC Comics is already looking ahead to what 2020 holds. The publisher has shared its slate of middle grade and Young Adult graphic novels for the new year, including titles by Gene Luen Yang, Melissa De La Cruz, Shannon and Dean Hale, Minh Le and more. The stories follow popular DC characters like Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Dick Grayson, Zatanna and Cassandra Cain.

2020 will see the release YA graphic novels including Shadow of the Batgirl by Sarah Kuhn and Nicole Goux; The Oracle Code by Marieke Nijkamp and Manuel Preitano; Gotham High by Melissa de la Cruz and Thomas Pitilli; Superman Smashes the Klan by Gene Luen Yang and Gurihiru; Wonder Woman: Tempest Tossed by Laurie Halse Anderson and Leila del Duca; You Brought Me the Ocean by Alex Sanchez and Julie Maroh; and an adaptation of Leigh Bardugo's Wonder Woman: Harbinger novel by Louise Simonson and Kit Seaton.

DC's middle grade graphic novels for 2020 target readers ages 8 to 12 and feature such titles as Diana: Princess of the Amazons by Shannon and Dean Hale and Victoria Ying; Green Lantern Legacy by Minh Le and Andie Tong; Batman Tales: Once Upon a Crime by Derek Fridolfs and Dustin Nguyen; Zatanna and the House of Secrets by Matthew Cody and Yoshi Yoshitani; Batman Overdrive by Shea Fontana and Marcelo Di Chiara; DC Super Hero Girls: Powerless by Amy Wolfram and Agnes Garbowska; Anti/Hero by Kate Karyus Quinn, Demitria Lunetta and Maca Gil; The Lost Carnival by Michael Moreci and Sas Milledge; My Video Game Ate My Homework by Dustin Hansen; Primer by Thomas Krajewski, Jennifer Munro and Gretel Lusky; DC Super Hero Girls: Weird Science by Amanda Deibert, Yancey Labat, Erich Owen and more; Lois Lane and the Friendship Challenge by Grace Ellis and Brittney L. Williams; and Teen Titans Go! to Camp by Sholly Fisch, Marcelo DiChiara and more.

According to DC,

DC’s very diverse 2020 [YA] slate features heroes with disabilities, a poignant coming out story timed to Pride month, Fierce heroines, defeating the KKK & the refugee experience [and] a Riverdale-Meets the-DC-Universe story by Melissa de la Cruz.

DC’s 2020 middle grade slate is all about: Wonder Woman and girl power in prep for the movie, DC’s first-ever Vietnamese- American Green Lantern, magic mysteries for fans of Harry Potter, Gotham twists on classic fairytales, a special book for car fans: the origin story of the famous Batmobile, and a few original superheroes.
