'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' Trailer Arrives

Fox has premiered the teaser trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, director Matt Reeves' sequel to the 2011 franchise reboot Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

The teaser, which prominently features Gary Oldman on screen and in voice over, emphasizes that a decade has passed since the events of the first film, with humans desperately clinging to existence while Caesar's apes seem to thrive. Here's the official synopsis:

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.

Opening July 11, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes also stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Judy Greer.
