David S. Goyer Teams With Lucasfilm For Darth Vader Virtual-Reality Experience

David S. Goyer, the co-writer of "Batman v Superman" and the "Dark Knight" trilogy, is collaborating with Lucasfilm's immersive entertainment division to develop a virtual-reality "story experience" about Darth Vader.

The announcement was made Saturday at the end of  ILMxLab panel at "Star Wars" Celebration Europe in London, where a brief teaser was shown. You can watch that below in a video from the panel livestream.

“When we looked at all the characters, places, and worlds in the 'Star Wars' universe available to us, we asked ourselves, ‘What haven’t we seen before? Who are we curious about?” Goyer said. “Darth Vader is the perfect ambassador to usher us into the 'Star Wars' VR universe.”

Although this Darth Vader project has been widely referred to as a movie, ILMxLab is quick to emphasize that it's not that, but rather "a story experience in virtual reality." What form that will ultimately take remains to be seen.
