Dark Nights: Death Metal #4 is now in stores, as readers of the DC event series catch up with its main cast of Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman as they fight to save not only the DC Universe, but the entire Multiverse from the evil Perpetua and The Batman Who Laughs. DC is releasing a series of animated shorts for Death Metal, with former Knight Rider and Baywatch star David Hasselhoff headlining the cast as the voice of the Man of Steel, Superman.
An image at the back of Dark Nights: Death Metal #4 features the voice cast, with Hasselhoff joined by Black Veil Brides lead singer Andy Biersack as Batman; folk/doom metal singer/songwriter Chelsea Wolfe as Wonder Woman; Who Framed Roger Rabbit's Charles Fleischer as The Joker and The Batman Who Laughs; The Punisher's Jason R. Moore as The Darkest Knight; Cinderella drummer Fred Coury as The Flash; Death Metal writer Scott Snyder as Robin King; and Death Metal artist Greg Capullo as Sgt. Rock.
The image above revealed animatic episodes of Dark Nights: Death Metal can be found on DCDeathMetal.World and on DC's YouTube channel. Composer and producer Tyler Bates also created a soundtrack for Death Metal along with the score for the event.
"I've invited artists on the soundtrack and pop-culture personalities alike to voice the characters illustrated in Scott and Greg's masterful take on classic DC characters, which possibly has never been more relevant to real life given the challenging time the world is currently experiencing," Bates said in a statement. "We are all enjoying the camaraderie of working to bring a new dimension of these DC characters to life in a new medium."
