David Hasselhoff might be an honorary Marvel space dad for his cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but it turns out The Hoff regularly chats with the actual dad of Marvel Comics, Stan Lee. Hasselhoff revealed as much at the red carpet premiere for Ant-Man and the Wasp on Monday night.

“It’s an honor to be here and a pleasure,” Hasselhoff said in an interview with Marvel Entertainment. “It’s really nice to see Paul Rudd and a lot of these people that I know. This franchise started years ago, and that’s where I met the legendary Stan Lee. I’m still meeting him -- still texting him back and forth. He’s cool.”

Hasselhoff didn’t go into detail about how he first met Lee, but he did confirm that the two talk frequently. “We chat a lot,” Hasselhoff said.
