"Gangster Squad" star Holt McCallany will reunite with David Fincher for Netflix's "Mind Hunters." According to The Hollywood Reporter, McCallany will play Bill Tench, an "inquisitive, skilled and forward-thinking detective."

McCallany has appeared in several of Fincher's films, including "Fight Club" and "Alien 3." He has also had roles in "Blue Bloods," "Three Kings," "Lights Out" and more. In "Mind Hunters," he will join a cast that includes "Fringe's" Anna Torv and "Hamilton" star Jonathan Groff.

Based on the 1996 nonfiction novel “Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit” by John Douglas and Mark Olshanker, the TV adaptation, set in 1979, follows two FBI agents who interview serial killers in an attempt to solve current cases.

From a script by Joe Penhall (“The Road”), “Mind Hunter” is executive produced by Fincher and Charlize Theron for Netflix. The project was originally developed at HBO by FOX 21.
