Actor David Boreanaz, known for playing Angel in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, reflected on the part and stated recently that he will not reprise the role if a reboot were to happen.

In an interview with Variety, Boreanaz was asked if he would ever play the vampire slayer's first love again. "No," the actor replied. "I'm all for people redoing it or whatever, but I'm too old. It's not like we're the cast of 'Friends' reuniting. We're not hanging out in the coffee shop on a couch. But, you know, with all that technology, they made Robert De Niro look really young. [Laughs]. I would encourage them to find somebody else to do it."

Even though Boreanaz does not see himself returning to the role any time soon, Angel has continued to live in the Buffyverse through the Buffy comic series and the spinoff Angel & Spike. He recently made headlines for defending the character against Twitter comments political activist Stacey Abrams made about Buffy and Angel's relationship.

The actor played Angel for the first three seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer before starring in a spinoff series, Angel, which lasted five seasons. Boreanaz currently plays MCPO Jason Hayes on the CBS drama SEAL Team.
