With production set to ramp up on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Drax actor Dave Bautista revealed the contents of his refrigerator.

In a Men's Health video posted to Facebook, Bautista guides his interviewer through his house, breaking down his daily eating and workout regimen. Shockingly, the former wrestler's diet consists of very little meat, with the Marvel star preferring eggs and fish as his sources of protein in a mostly plant-based diet. After discovering he was allergic to dairy in 2005, Bautista cut dairy products from his diet and, later, when he trained in Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, he and the rest of the fighters training with him cut out red meat and pork.

"When I'm on set I still -- I have my meal prep, so I eat -- it's actually in my contract that I have to eat no less than every four hours and in between those meals if I get hungry I typically do like an almond butter and banana, or a vegan, gluten-free grilled cheese," Bautista said.

Bautista's meal prep sets him apart from fellow superhero actors such as Hugh Jackman, who adopted Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's fitness routine when working out for his role as Wolverine. According to Jackman, his meals consisted almost entirely of chicken and broccoli, resulting in the actor jokingly expressing relief after finishing work on Logan, with him saying he could finally enjoy beer and pizza again.

Bautista recently weighed in on fan concerns that Marvel actors will age out of their roles, arguing, "I don't think it's a problem, because the Marvel library is so extensive." He morbidly pointed out, "They're gonna have material to draw from for well after I'm dead and gone." Citing the X-Men library in particular, Bautista added, "There's so much there that they'll never run out of material or actors or superheroes."

In contrast to his intimidating physique and penchant for playing scary henchmen, Bautista engages in animal rights activism, with the bodybuilder recently adopting a neglected puppy and offering a reward in exchange for information on the abusers. This interest in protecting the creatures of the earth mirrors the ideology of Valiant superhero the Eternal Warrior, whom Bautista was once in talks to portray. There have been no updates on this project since 2017, leading fans to believe that the movie was quietly shelved.

Bautista's next role will be as House Harkonnen member Glossu Rabban in Dennis Villeneuve's Dune adaptation. He is also set to return as Drax the Destroyer for upcoming Marvel projects Thor: Love and Thunder, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
