Netflix viewers are obsessing over the wrinkles in Dave Bautista’s bald head, which drew the attention of many during his performance in Rian Johnson’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

Social media is abuzz with commentary about Bautista’s head wrinkles, featured prominently in his many extended close-up shots throughout Glass Onion. Several viewers recalled being struck by the odd-looking texture of his scalp and quipped about how distracting they found it to be.

In Glass Onion, Bautista plays Duke Cody, a bombastic video game streamer and men's rights activist. Duke is featured prominently throughout the film, sometimes silently watching from the bushes and at other times delivering scathing dialogue. Glass Onion's ensemble cast impressed critics and audiences alike, landing the film a spot on the National Board of Review's top 10 films of 2022 and receiving a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. The film was viewed by 35 million households following its Dec. 23 streaming release as viewership continues to rise.

Marvel, Dune and More for Bautista

Since making the jump from pro wrestling to acting, Bautista has portrayed several fan-favorite characters, such as Drax the Destroyer from the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Guardians recently released a holiday special on Disney+ and will be unveiling its third installment in May 2023. Bautista has also appeared in several other major franchises, including his first appearance alongside Daniel Craig in the 24th installment of the James Bond franchise, Spectre. Bautista plays Spectre's near-speechless villain Hinx, eerily reminiscent of another fan-favorite 007 character, Jaws, portrayed by Richard Kiel.

Bautista briefly appeared in the opening scene of Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi sequel Blade Runner 2049 as Sapper Morton, a prawn farmer with a secret. Following the success of that film, Villeneuve cast Bautista as the notorious villain Glossu Rabban Harkonnen in Dune: Part One. Bautista (and his head wrinkles) are set to return in Villeneuve’s follow-up Dune: Part Two. Also returning will be another MCU alum, Stellan Skarsgard, who is reprising the role of Bautista’s character's evil uncle, Baron Vladimir Harkonnen. Joining them for the first time in the sequel is Elvis actor Austin Butler, who will play Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen.

Bautista’s next project, writer/director M. Night Shyamalan's thriller Knock at the Cabin, will be released in theaters on Feb. 3, 2023.
