Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery's Dave Bautista celebrates the movie's Netflix release with some brief, but touching words of thanks to the people who made this film possible.

"Thank you to the cast, crew and to everyone that watches #GlassOnion," Bautista wrote on Twitter, accompanied by a video of him on a Glass Onion set with the production team and director Rian Johnson. The WWE star-turned actor also brought his Championship belt to set, which he let Johnson wear while commending the crew for their talent behind the scenes. "I don't like giving speeches," he admitted, calling them "my least favorite part of the movie because I don't like people clapping for me because everybody in this fucking room has worked harder than me on this film. So I feel like a fraud standing here saying, you know, like I did something special. So thank you guys!"

Dave Bautista's New Knives Out Character

In Glass Onion, Bautista plays supporting character Duke Cody, a popular online gamer/Mens Rights activist with close ties to tech billionaire Miles Bron. Set during the early COVID-19 months, the movie sees Duke and his girlfriend Whiskey (Madeline Clyne), along with several high-profile media and political figures, attend Miles' murder mystery island party via a puzzle box invitation, only for detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) to inexplicably join the event.

While Bautista and Craig previously worked together on the James Bond film Spectre, the former described his co-star as much happier this time around, noting how, "On Spectre, there wasn't a whole lot of interaction with the whole cast. But Glass Onion was the complete opposite. We were always together. So I got to know him better as a person and actually see him do his thing."

After drawing acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival, Glass Onion made a limited one-week theatrical release to promote its Netflix debut. It would gross $15 million at the box office, falling short of the original Knives Out's $26 million during its first week. Netflix will also distribute Johnson's third Knives Out movie, though it's unknown whether the streaming service will use this theatrical model again.

Bautista's next movie is Knock at the Cabin, where he plays one of four individuals trying to stop the apocalypse by holding a girl and her dads captive. He will also reprise his roles as Drax the Destroyer and Glossu Rabban in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Dune: Part Two respectively, both of which are scheduled for 2023 releases.

Directed by Rian Johnson, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is available to watch on Netflix.
