Dave Bautista, best known as Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy, doesn't believe he'd make a good romantic comedy lead... but his fans disagree.

During a recent interview, Bautista mentioned how he's never received an offer to do a rom-com and mused about why that might be. "I know I’m not your typical rom-com lead," Bautista said. "I’m a little rough around the edges. But I always, you know, I look in the mirror and I say, I ask myself, 'Am I that unattractive? Is there something that unappealing about me that excludes me from these parts?'" These queries prompted the actor's fans to come to his defense as his followers both reassured him of his looks and pitched various romantic comedy ideas that could feature the wrestler-turned-actor.

Some of the concepts brought forward envision Bautista as a bakery owner, a firefighter and a single father, and paired him with actresses like Natasha Lyonne, Gwendoline Christie and Regina Hall. Plenty of fans simply offered their support for the former pro wrestler if he ever does star in a romantic movie.

The Many Faces of Dave Bautista

While Drax may arguably be his biggest movie role, Bautista has appeared in a wide variety of sci-fi and thriller films. He most recently played the over-the-top streamer Duke Cody in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, and the pale nephew of Baron Harkonnen in Denis Villeneuve's Dune film. Within the past few years, he's starred in Zach Snyder's Army of the Dead, the spy comedy My Spy and featured in the critically-acclaimed Blade Runner 2049.

Bautista's latest starring role is in the M. Night Shyamalan film Knock at the Cabin, a home invasion thriller with some terrifyingly high stakes. The film follows a family who's held hostage by a group of strangers insisting they need a sacrifice to prevent the apocalypse and co-stars Jonathan Groff (Mindhunter) and Rupert Grint (the Harry Potter series). For the rest of 2023, Bautista will be returning in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Dune: Part Two.

Knock on the Cabin comes out in theaters on Feb. 3.
