Dave Bautista shared his excitement concerning Legendary and Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming sequel, Dune: Part Two.

In an interview with Collider, Bautista, who played Glossu Rabban in 2021's Dune, said director Denis Villeneuve's upcoming sequel will improve upon the Oscar-winning first film in every way. "This is so amped up from the first film. The first film was just an introduction to what this film is," he said. "There's just so much going on, it's so much more cutthroat and political and intense. And there are moments of levity where [there are] some funny moments, and they're kind of absurd humor, but there are those moments. So it's just so much more amped up than the first film. It was that times 100 because it was Rabban amped up, and my part is much bigger on this."

Principal photography on Dune: Part Two wrapped in December 2022 and is scheduled to premiere in theaters in November. Along with Bautista, the sequel will see Timothée Chalamet reprise his role as Paul Atreides, the duke of House Atreides, as well as Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Stellan Skarsgård as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, Dave Bautista as Glossu Rabban and Zendaya as Chani, among others.

What Do We Know About Dune: Part 2?

While little is known so far about the sequel, Chalamet previously hyped Zendaya's performance as Chani in the upcoming film. "She hasn't wrapped yet and it's amazing," he said in November 2022, before filming was completed. "She's bringing exactly what she brought to the first one — which was incredible — but in greater abundance. And she's really become a sister. I'm so grateful to count her as a partner and a sister and a friend."

The sequel will also see a wide variety of newcomers join the cast, including Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot Fenring, Souheila Yacoub as Shishakli and Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam Corrino IV. Dune: Part Two will adapt the second half of Frank Herbert's 1965 novel Dune.

Apart from Dune, Bautista is set to reprise his role as Drax the Destroyer one last time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The film is slated to be Bautista's final appearance as Drax, something the former WWE champion-turned actor is relieved about. "I’m so grateful for Drax. I love him," he said. "But there’s a relief [that it’s over]. It wasn’t all pleasant. It was hard playing that role."

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 opens in theaters on May 5, while Dune: Part Two releases in theaters on Nov. 3.
