With all the buzz surrounding Daredevil's (Charlie Cox) possible appearance in Spider-Man 3, fans have been wondering which other characters from the Netflix Marvel series could show up in the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe as well. Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) are likely candidates, and both deserve a chance to shine after their disappointing and ambiguous final appearances. But fans seem to have forgotten the fourth Defender, Iron Fist.

Though Danny Rand (Finn Jones) was an underwhelming hero whose show was mired in racist tropes and unconvincing relationships, Iron Fist did one fantastic thing at the end of its run by passing the Iron Fist mantle to Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick). Colleen's final scene showed her fully equipped with a mystical dragon tattoo and a glowing katana, ready to fight crime as the Iron Fist. If the show had been given a third season, it undoubtedly would have followed her adventures.

Unfortunately, Season 3 never came, and fans didn't get to see Colleen as Iron Fist. But the MCU can pick up where Iron Fist left off. Colleen deserves the spotlight, and there's no better way to do that than to create a Daughters of the Dragon series.

In the comics, the Daughters of the Dragon are a crime-fighting duo comprised of Colleen and Misty Knight. They're usually associated with Iron Fist, Power Man and the Heroes For Hire. After Misty lost her arm and resigned from the NYPD, they banded together and started a detective firm called Knightwing Restorations, Ltd. The "Daughters of the Dragon" title was thrown at them by an enemy, intended as a slight, but they embraced it.

In the Netflix Marvel canon, Misty (Simone Missick) lost her arm at the end of The Defenders while protecting Claire (Rosario Dawson) from Bakuto (Ramón Rodríguez). She and Colleen had been developing a rapport prior to this which only strengthened after Colleen brought news that Misty would receive a new bionic arm courtesy of Danny. They progressed to sparring together and became genuine friends. Misty then fought at Colleen's side throughout Season 2 of Iron Fist.

Their final conversation in Iron Fist appeared to be foreshadowing an official team-up. They talked about how they work well together and how they should hang out more. Additionally, Misty had taken some time off from the NYPD after being offered the captain's position, suggesting that she was questioning her future in the police force. As Colleen had been newly established as the Iron Fist, it seemed like a perfect time for them to break off and form their own team. With Danny off on a vague knowledge quest and Luke supervising Harlem's Paradise, the Daughters of the Dragon wouldn't even have to exist in anyone's shadow. Colleen and Misty would have been more than able to carry their own series.

The Daughters of the Dragon should join the ranks of the MCU. They're detectives and could easily be integrated into nearly any show, be it whimsical, like the more comedic She-Hulkor gritty, like that of Hawkeye. They could even riff on Colleen being the Iron Fist and tie into more mystical kinds of stories.

Daughters of the Dragon show featuring Misty and Colleen would be an incredibly positive step for Marvel, as they'd be the first all-female team to headline an MCU property. The show could incorporate other female characters from the MCU as well, such as former Defenders-adjacent characters like Jessica Jones and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Disney+ stars like Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) and even others from the movies.

Colleen and Misty are arguably some of the best characters in the Netflix Marvel shows. Adding a Daughters of the Dragon series to the Disney+ line-up would give these characters the attention they deserve.
