Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca's "Darth Vader" #20 features plenty of material that will interest "Star Wars" fans. Not only does it present Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader's most honest conversation to date about the elder Sith Lord's machinations, it also dives into more of the thought that went into Darth Sidious' actions throughout the prequel trilogy. Palpatine's not exactly a trustworthy source when it comes to history, sure, but the long awaited meeting features more reveals about Sith methodology than has been seen in the series so far.
This meeting between master and apprentice also takes place on a ship that will be familiar to anyone that has seen "The Empire Strikes Back" or "Return of the Jedi." Vader meets with his master on the Super Star Destroyer Executor, which is depicted as still being under construction.
As was previously established Executor was constructed in the Kuat Drive Yards, but "Darth Vader" #20 establishes that the ship was initially built to serve as General Tagge's new flagship. By the time of "Empire Strikes Back," Darth Vader himself will have taken on the massive Star Destroyer as his own personal flagship. The Executor served as the primary Imperial base of operations depicted in the film; the infamous gathering of the bounty hunters took place on the Executor's bridge. The ship met its end in "Return of the Jedi" when it crashed into the second Death Star.
