Darren Aronofsky may be trying to line up his biblical epic Noah as his next film project with Christian Bale leading the cast, but he's apparently leaving enough time in his day to pursue other opportunities. HBO picked up a pitch from novelists Michael Chabon and Ayelet Waldman back in March, and it's one that Aronofsky is reportedly on board with as well.
Titled Hobgoblin, the story follows a group of con men and magicians who use their unique talents to aid in the fight against Adolf Hitler's regime during World War II. Aronofsky is set to direct the eventual pilot and executive produce, alongside Chabon, Waldman, John Lesher and Adam Kassan, Deadline reveals.
It sounds like a completely insane-o idea, and one that Aronofsky could probably do an excellent job of running with. As long as it doesn't take too much time away from Noah. Christian Bale trapped on a boat with two of every single animal in creation is a story that the world needs to see.
