Darkseid has posited a question to the Thanos of Avengers: Endgame fame: What does it feel like to kind of, sort of win halfway for a little while? The insult comes courtesy of the Injustice 2 mobile game’s Twitter account, which asks why you would want to destroy half of the universe when you can have it all?

The diss, of course, references the Mad Titan’s plan in Avengers: Infinity War to destroy half of all life in the universe to curb resource scarcity. The plan kind of worked. Thanos assembled all the Infinity Stones in Infinity War, which concluded with the villain successfully pulling off his genocide, only to have all his hard work undone five years later by a group of time-traveling Avengers.

Darkseid’s thoughts? Sounds like a lot of work for not a lot of gain.

The ruler of Apokolips likely wouldn’t waste such plentiful resources -- living bodies -- and would instead opt to convert them to his cause via the insidious Anti-Life Equation. As for resource scarcity, that’s not something that’s really on Darkseid’s radar. He is, after all, the tyrannical ruler of a fiery planet made of sulfur, metal and hate.
