The Dark Tower arrives in theaters in less than a month, bringing Stephen King's bestselling fantasy epic to the big screen. Now Sony Pictures has released a new international trailer that finds the last Gunslinger (Idris Elba) and the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey) bringing an eternal battle to Earth.

For those unfamiliar with King's novels, the trailer spells out the premise. The Gunslingers were knights, but Roland Deschain of Gilead (Idris Elba) is the last one. The Man in Black is a bad dude, and he wants to topple the Dark Tower. The two have pursued each other across worlds, and now they're brought their fight to ours.

Besides some excellent gun-slinging (of which there is plenty), fans of the novels see lots of tantalizing peeks at familiar elements, including the Beams, which hold up the Tower, and lead the way. We also get our best look at the door Roland uses to travel between worlds.

The trailers for The Dark Tower have been surprisingly mysterious for a big action movie. Many marketing campaigns will give a lot of the film away, but so far, The Dark Tower marketing has managed to make a lot out of a little.

Arriving Aug. 4, The Dark Tower also stars Abbey Lee, Katheryn Winnick, Fran Kranz, Claudia Kim and Jackie Earle Haley.
