Sophie Turner's stunt double in X-Men: Dark Phoenix suffered a severely broken leg while filming one of her scenes, according to a fellow stuntman, who revealed the injury on a recent podcast.

Speaking to the "Corridor Crew," stuntman Jesse LaFlair said: "Her leg came past her...and it just...boom. The bone is sticking out of the boot."

LaFlair, who was discussing famously nasty injuries with the YouTube podcast crew as part of its "Stuntmen React" series, said Turner's stunt double -- who was not named -- was filming a scene with him when the injury happened. The two of them were rolling down a roof together during a camera rehearsal and the mat below them had been lowered, making the fall steeper than they had planned.

LaFlair said that when they landed, the woman's leg immediately broke. She had to be replaced the next day, as a result.

Dark Phoenix was the last film in the Fox X-Men saga. The team is expected to get a full-blown MCU reboot sometime in the future.

Directed and written by Simon Kinberg, Dark Phoenix stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Holt, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters and Jessica Chastain.
