Sophie Turner has said she would love to reprise her role as Jean Grey in the future, following Simon Kinberg's Dark Phoenix.

Speaking to Variety, the Game of Thrones star confessed that, even though she is currently unaware of any plans Disney has for the X-Men property, she would "always be down to go back to that character and that cast and that experience." She added, "We had just the best time on those movies. I would kill to go back."

Turner is the second actor to play a live-action Jean and followed in the footsteps of Famke Janssen. It is unclear what Disney plans to do with the X-Men now that it has acquired Fox. Kevin Feige has assured fans that the X-Men are coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but provided no further details. Dark Phoenix's lacklustre performance has helped fuel rumors that Kevin Feige will start from scratch with Charles Xavier's gifted youngsters. As of yet, there has been no official confirmation regarding plans for the X-Men.

Matthew Vaughn created a soft reboot for the long-running X-Men franchise with X-Men: First Class in 2011 and started an alternate timeline with the likes of James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender playing younger version of Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto, respectively. Turner joined the series as Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse and led the box office bomb that was 2019's Dark Phoenix.
