Dark Phoenix: Digital and Home Release Dates Revealed

Dark Phoenix

The final film in 20th Century Fox's X-Men film franchise, Dark Phoenix, will be available on digital, Blu-ray and DVD in September.

Starring Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Dark Phoenix is a live-action adaption of 1980's Dark Phoenix Saga, which originally appeared in The X-Men #129–138. The comic book storyline was written by Chris Claremont with art by John Byrne.

Dark Phoenix is set to release digitally on Sept. 3 with 4k Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD versions releasing on Sept. 17. Plenty of features will appear on the Blu-ray, digital HD and 4K Ultra HD releases, including deleted scenes with optional commentary, a "Making of the Dark Phoenix" documentary, a "How to Fly Your Jet to Space with Beast" featurette and film commentary with Simon Kinberg and Hutch Parker.

Dark Phoenix didn't do very well at the box office, making only $33 million in its opening weekend, a record low for the X-Men film series. However, critics and audiences seem a bit torn about the film. Dark Phoenix currently has a 23% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, while the audience scored it 64%.

Directed and written by Simon Kinberg, Dark Phoenix stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters and Jessica Chastain. The film is out in theaters now.
