However, sources have told The Hollywood Reporter that it could happen following the release of Alita: Battle Angel, which is set to hit theaters on Feb. 14. In turn, the upcoming X-Men film Dark Phoenix could be the first Fox film released under the Disney banner, Marvel or otherwise.

This would make sense, seeing as how before being delayed for the second time, Dark Phoenix was slated to be released on Feb. 14. Moreover, it should also be mentioned that the film's new release date, June 7, is one that does not conflict with any other Disney release.

Following Dark Phoenix on Fox's 2018 release schedule will be fellow X-Men film The New Mutants, as well as Spies in Disguise, The Woman in the Window and The Call of the Wild.
