The Batman Who Laughs was terrifying enough, and his transformation into the Darkest Knight, as seen in Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's Dark Nights: Death Metal #2, might prove to be even more sinister. But that's not to say his brand-new disciple the Robin King won't be any less terrifying.

Speaking at Comic-Con@Home's "DC@Home Day Two" virtual panel, Snyder provided some equally terrifying paraphrasing of the character's demented nature, when the Robin King encounters DC's heroes for the first time and explains exactly how he intends to torment them.

"'I actually dug up your dead mom and stuffed her into one of your little g*****n flash rings,'" Snyder paraphrases the Robin King speaking to Barry Allen. "'You want to see her body?'"

To Alan Scott, he says, "'I hunted down both your children and I cremated them and I made this composite out of their ashes. It cancels out your power so I can beat you to death with it.'"

"He's very evil," Snyder acknowledges. "He's definitely one of our darkest creations, but I love him because I what I want the heroes to go up against here is something that says, 'Everything you believe us to be, everything you hope we are, you know we aren't.'"

The Robin King will get his first opportunity to show off his horrific nature in Dark Nights: Death Metal #3. The issue goes on sale August 11.
